I think a gopro would be too much weight for the motors, you could just mod the camera and put a wide angle lens on it.

Thousands of quads like these eg v262 have been sold and yes spare motors are a must. Lucky the motors are so cheap.

Make sure you have got spare motors ordered because that is the only problem with this quad. It's alot of fun to fly though.
