  • are the SOs for filter? Or are they already roasted for espresso?

    • +2

Generally we try to make our coffee good for every brew method but of course some are better in a sense of additional enjoyment for a certain brew method. But let me share my personal preference. But please bear in mind my taste can be different than yours.

For espresso i love the yirgachffe, brazil and guatemala
For milk base i love malabar brazil tanzania and sidamo
For pour over filter aero press and the rest i love all.

      Hope that answers the question

      • +1

I think OP meant to ask whether you can do a lighter filter roast?

        • Oh sorry
No we dont do custom roast request for our promotional deal

        • +1

@sweetyarracoffee: That's a shame. Understand you might not be able to do half espresso half filter - but would you be able to do 2kg of filter only?

        • yes keen to know too. i've got plenty of sources for espresso blends, none for SO filter.

  • Looked at the image and thought OzBargain was on sale $50.. will you take $15?

    • -1

We are not affiliated with oz bargain as a business we only use this site as a promotional media. Customers need to purchase through our website with link provided. So the price is as advertised on deal and as on our website

      • I'll give you $20 inc shipping.

I jumped on the last deal and was happy with the service and beans

    • Much appreciated

  • I too ordered from the last deal and happy with the coffee. My only critism is that the beans don't come in resealable bags.

    • Unless you order in 4x 500 gr bags which is resealable our 1 kg bag is not

      • It's a shame that the 4x500g wasn't the same price then.

  • Woah! I was just searching around for a new roaster to stock up.
So shipping from Melb to Gold Coast is free? Around 8 days from order to be on the safe side?
    - Guatemalan Antigua Los Volcanes is one option with the choclatey tone… which should I go as my second? :|
Which one would you recommend for drip coffee with milk? Do you guys have the Indian Malabar Gold in stock? This is what am having right now: http://questcoffee.com.au/Shop/InCasaOrganicPremiumBlend

    • The Brazilian should be chocolatey & bold enough to work with milk. That's what I ordered anyway!

      • Yup thanks for your order:)

    • Yes free and yes we have malabar in stock

    • Yes its free and yes we have malabar in stock

  • how long do beans last in a plastic resealable container?

    • +2

for as long as your tastebuds thinks they're ok.

Rule of thumb for specialty coffee beans (not wholesale):-

Roasted Coffee Grinds - 10-14 days
Roasted Coffee Beans - 14-28 days
Coffee Green beans – 2-5 years

These timeframes are based on personal experience as to how flavour in cup has changed from my standard of drinkable to straight down the sink espresso extractions.
These also apply to medium roasts, if it’s a darker (city/vienna) roasts you might be able to lengthen those aforementioned timeframes by +5 days or so.

      • Thanks

        • My coffee beans stay in the dispenser for months as I only have the occasional coffee - is there a way to make it last longer?

        • just keep em as airtight as possible. if it's for prolonged periods of time most of the carbon dioxide would have eventually dissipate already so it won't matter. I would personally never freeze my beans as that would mean i'm intending to keep them around for long periods of time, which results in low-average tasting coffee, a big NO-NO when satisfying my coffee craves, however there's a study done here if you are keen to read:

          http://www.home-barista.com/store-coffee-in-freezer.html

TL:DR, if you intend to freeze beans for prolonged periods of time, do it when they are fresh and if you are not too fussed about tcompromising the subtle but unique flavour profile from the beans.

        • +1

@avexdevil: Seattle Coffee Gear also did this test. Seems that freezing beans actually preserves them for a fair bit longer. Freeze them asap.

        • @toshin:

Freezing in airtight jars does work but you need to make sure each bag only defrosts once. Can't defrost then put back in freezer.

  • order placed.. thanks!

    • Thanks for that

  • I did not like the Tanzanian that I got, but the yirgacheffe was alright.

      Hello

thanks for your feedback, maybe you can try blend them see what they come up to? :)

  • Thought OP was selling $2000 worth of beans

  • No roasted decaf available? Wanted to order some with this order.

    • Decaf is available for $25 per kg unfortunately it is not included in the deal. Regards

      • Perfect. Wanted to order in addition :)

There's no info on your site about the decaf. What beans and what process is used?

        • Sorry for late reply its swiss water process we dont sell for public generally as they are available for our cafe client but email me i can invoice you separately
          Regards

  • Ordered thanks

  • I wonder how this coffee compares to Campos? We usually buy from them, but this is half the price!
Also, we're making our coffee with moca pot, wonder which beans are better for this method?

    Thank you.

    • Cant say much they are respectable roaster and i do believe they have their passion. So do we. We are not as big as them (we dont want to be big anyway :) as it will be harder to maintain )

      Try and see for yourself

      Regards

  • hi Rep, I like my coffee to be strong and dark.Which ones would you recommend??

  • +1

I would suggest brazil and indian malabar they are dark chocolate roast. Be mindful that New fresh batch of brazil coffee will arrive around 5-8 of august due to new year n xmas break. The shipment has been delayed although we already ordered before xmas

    • +1

I think he means January, not Aug.

      • Oh my god so sorry yesss january lol

Purchased some last month. Very happy and the coffee is quite nice. Will order from you again!!!

Especially like the fact the coffee is "fresh". The packs have a roasted on date.

    Thanks.

    Peter.

    • Thanks pete!!

Super-duper late in posting this, but I ordered from the last deal, and my husband and I are loving the coffee! I was skeptical at first because OP was offering single origin coffees for the price of blends… but tasting is believing! I know who my roaster is from now on :)

    • +1

Wowww i am over the moon !!!! Nothing more satisfying for a roaster than a good feedback

  • If someone tried Campos coffee could you please comment on how it compares to this one? I'm ready to make a purchase, but not sure what to expect and 2kg is a lot of coffee for us :)

    • Well if u ask me, i like mine better ofcourse haha

      • Lol, of course. Just placed the order, see how it goes!

Was very scared to put an order through:

    • Insecure login and account creation pages
    • The SSL/TLS configuration for the payments page is susceptible to MITM attacks

Thankfully, the credit card submission is done through Stripe and PayPal who do know what they are doing.

    • Yes and we are aware about this. Trying hard to fix it on the other end there. Of course we are using paypal and stripe we dont use generic payment system. Thanks anyway for the feedback

  • Just reviewing, bought this before Christmas:

    Cuurently drinking:

    • Guatemalan Antigua Los Volcanes
    • Tanzania Kilimanjaro
    • Sweet Yarra Blend

I drink my coffee black and had it ground to a medium fine consistency.

Have made the coffee using both a machine and at work with my trusty aeropress.

IMHO, the sweet yarra blend was the best smelling AND tasting (smells like chocolatey coffee heaven), followed closely by the Guatemalan. The Tanzania was a bit too rich / strong but is still far better than takeaway cafe coffee.

    Would definitely recommend their coffee.

    • Much appreciated thank you by the way the tanzania is more like kenya so yeah they have their punch try mixing them and see how it goes

  • Hi, are the beans sourced ethically/fair-trade?

  • Only our brazilian is rain forest alliance certified but no fair trade

  • Just had an update from warehouse, the brazilian will arrive most likely on friday, again we ask kindly to those who has brazilian in their orders for patience. Also since there are quite a number of orders with brazilian, it could be more delay as we roast on first to serve basis.

Feel free to change your preference if you want to

    Regards

  • This vendor is very helpful. A family member ordered from the previous offer just before Christmas, had some technical issues, and e-mailed vendor who was very responsive and compensated generously.
    Good to see this.

    • Thank you as we strife for the highest quality service, mistakes do happen but rest assured we will do anything to consolidate no matter what reason. For example, We had customer forgot to mention his unit number and coffee returned back to us but we sent back new batch of coffee again to him with no extra cost. Point is mistake does happen as long as its still within limit of "fair dinkum ness" we ll try our best. Cheers

  • Any chance I could still sneak an order in?

    • Try e-mailing them at the gmail address in the original post. They are quite helpful.

  • I picked up my order from the post office yesterday. I can't wait to try them! I wanted to right away, but I still have some beans in my grinder

  • Got my order delivered to work, and the wife has just made me one of the Guatemalan in our little Breville machine. Holy heck, it's awesome!

Ivan's a great guy to deal with over email too with excellent and timely communication. Can't go wrong :)

    Thanks Ivan!
