    • Whats phishy about it? As far as I can tell it is just a site that shows what apps are on sale, and links directly to microsoft. No different from posting app deals on ozb?

  • Rep, can you explain why we need to go through your site to access the deals? Just had a quick look at some of the games, and prices are available directly through the official site.

    • You don't have to. It's like how members post deals from appshopper. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/deals/appshopper.com

      • There's a difference here though. Your example of AppShopper's deals are posted by our own users. This site here is only ever posted by the Rep who is associated or related to the website.

I'm just curious as to why we need to go to a third party site with no apparent relation to Microsoft or the app developers only to go back to the Windows Phone store to buy any apps.

It's almost like if I ran my own site, found bargains and posted deals on OzBargain and linked users here to my own site before seeing the deal.

I think a bit of transparency from the Rep would be nice. Why would someone who has no apparent connection to Microsoft or the apps themselves want us to go through their website before Microsoft's. Just seems like the Rep could be benefiting from the traffic or something.

Edit: Just to add, it's not the first time this issue has been brought up, Payton brought it up in that linked deal and the Rep never responded.

Well it is kind of like a referral link, but he did click the store rep tag. It doesn't look like the WindowsPhone store has a "Sale" section so it was good of him to find some deals and list them.

        • @ozhunter:

Yeah I know the Rep clicked the Rep tag, I was just curious why they run the site instead of just posting deals here with links going directly to the app store.

I'm all for cheap games, but just wanted to ask why :)

          @IceCreamBandit:
When we made an account, it was adviced from ozb, that we need to tick that box, I can't really remember why.
Why we run the site, instead of posting here? You can see that the site has no ads, no registration, ect. I built the site just for fun with my mate. Site is fully automated, so nobody is adding new apps on the site. It is just crawling both stores - Windows and Phone, and finds new deals. I am not able to post every app here, everyday. Instead, sometimes I visit my site and see that there are some good deals, which people might not know about,so why not to share?
Personally, I like windows 8/8.1/10 and Windows Phone and I don't understand, why people are blaming on it, so I really want to add my piece to make those platforms better. That's it.

        • @WinAppsOnSale:

Thanks for response Rep, much appreciated and yeah I noticed that the site had no ads or users or anything so that's why I wanted to ask. The site looks good and makes wish I had the time to learn how to make a good website. More of a computer hardware person myself so I'll leave that to more talented people.

I'm a big fan of Windows/Windows Phone too (Lumia 1020 owner and 8.1 user), so thanks again for your response and keep sharing the good deals :)

        • @IceCreamBandit:
          Thanks for good feedback))

  • Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse is half that price on greenmangaming and it will work in windows 7 not just 8. You just have to get steam.

Probably affiliate marketing deals where the rep gets kickbacks from all the referrals. ..
