  • I reserved a few items with MSY for click and collect on Sunday, they did not get back to me yet

    • MSY cancelled my orders since they were apparently out of stock. They rang me first thing Monday morning though. You might want to ring them.

    • They got back to me Monday via email letting me know my order was ready and I ordered Sunday night.

I did make sure all the items were in stock at that branch when I ordered though (by selecting the store and searching for the item). Should listen to the above and make a phone call.

      • I checked the stock levels online and all items were available. I tried calling them the other day but nobody answered.

        • Finally someone answered the phone and said u better go in person to the store and see what they have in store because they're too busy to answer the phone!

        • @CandyMan:
So I went to HN coz the guy online said I can price match instore, only to be told "we only price match genuine competitors"! WTH

So I went toOW who gladly price matched MSY without a question :)

  • -1

can we buy multiple of the same item?

  • +4

PLE raised the price on wireless 360 controller to $36. Clever. Out of principle, I'm going to pass.

  • -1

If purchase 3 of the same items in one purchase can we claim for all 3?

    • +2

Have you read the Terms & Conditions and Redemption Form information?

For multiple purchases on one receipt, each product must still be claimed individually.

If you buy three of the same item, you need to lodge three separate claims.

      • I specifically put in 3 separate orders to get 3 different receipts @ u-mart for the MS Comfort 5000 Desktop…

the guys came out scratching their heads thinking their ordering system was bust when I went to pick it up as they thought it was a single order going through 3 times :)

Scored an ex display (without box) wedge mobile keyboard at officeworks Osborne park for $40. That will be $0 after $40 Cashback. There is an ex-display 5000 combo selling fo $49 yesterday and other that is better off with price matching with MSY.

  • -1

Does anyone have a screenshot or receipt of the ple $30 xbox controller? Thinking of trying to get a price match at Big W or somewhere.

    • +1

Do Big W even sell the 'for Windows' version of the controller? I've never see it there, only the actual Xbox version without the receiver.

  • +5

Ok here's a mini review of the items I've just picked up. *disclaimer: I have only played with the keyboards for a couple of hours each."

    MS natural ergonomic 4000 keyboard

First time using a split keyboard and it certainly feels very different. But a good different imo. very comfortable to type on. The keys are slightly loud (I'd say on par with the noise of most other membrane keyboards) and it's a muted sound instead of a clicking sound. The noise is cut down if you "press" the keys instead of lifting your fingers above them slightly before pushing down (if that makes sense). One caveat is that the space bar is quite stiff and much louder than other keys (a commonly reported problem of the keyboard. I was able to google this and find a reasonable solution by taking the space bar off an placing things to dampen the noise and make it a little easier to press by reducing the travel needed. It's not a perfect solution but I can live with it. The palm rest is very comfortable and is plush so there's softness and little bit of give to it.

MS all in one media KB

Pretty much silent chicklet type keys with very short travel so that takes getting used to if you're coming from a normal membrane type kb. The media buttons and the trackpad worked well when I played around with it. 2 finger scroll and pinch to zoom works well and there's an additional left mouse button on the top left of the keyboard so you can hold the keyboard's sides with both hands and operate the mouse with right thumb and click with left thumb.

    arc keyboard

Has a curved surface similar to the 4000 but the curve is not as pronounced. They keys are spaced apart unlike normal keyboards that has no space in between them so it takes a lot of getting used to (at least for me). There's an audible click every time you press down a key though not as loud as 4000. Comes with an OK bag, good for keeping the keyboard from getting dusty but don't protect it much as it is basically made from the same material as those green environmentally friendly bags people use to put groceries in to. I feel this is a keyboard that you'd want to use a lot when away from office/home because you need to get used to the spacing of the keys. If you do not use it often you might always find it awkward to use every time at the beginning.

I already had a MS keyboard before so I had the MS keyboard and mouse center installed on my w8.1 machine and every single kb were recognized with no issues.

One thing I noticed is that 2 of the 3 keyboards I bought from MSY were opened. I could see a second clear circular sealer on one side placed right on top of the one that was cut open previously. I'm not sure if it was MSY that did it or MS but the products seem to be fine.

  • Microsoft mention Centre Com Sunshine Pty Ltd in "Harvey Norman, Domayne, Joyce Mayne, JB Hi-Fi, The Good Guys, Dick Smith, Officeworks, Bing Lee, Big W,EB Games, MSY Technology Pty Ltd, Officemax Australia Ltd, Centre Com Sunshine Pty Ltd, Computer Alliance, Austin Computers, Leading Edge Group Ltd, PLE Computers, Umart Online.". Do they accept the store of Center Com at Hawthorn (SUPERSTORE HAWTHORN 497 Burwood Road, Hawthorn, VIC 3122)? Thanks

    • yes.. as long as they operate under the same ABN

  • +2

My mate and I went to get two of the all in one multimedia keyboards. Officeworks at Doncaster would not price match MSY/CPL who had it for $33 whereas Officeworks had it for $59. We talked to someone else there who would price match it but then we got denied by the first guy.

JB at Greensborough priced matched them no questions asked!

I would not recommend Officeworks at Doncaster as they will make excuses and stuff you around.

    • they are sold out in may officeworks ….

    • Thats weird, i just went to the Doncaster store and they did it for me.
Asked to price match the MSY $33 and he sort of said no straight away and thought about it for a second.
He then started to talk about the MSY restocking fee (%10), ended up charging me $33 + 10% - 5% = $34.48

      • +1

lol all that work for $1.48? this guy needs a promotion

…or he's wasting time. i don't know how to look at this

        • Yeah.. i wasnt too sure either. He even loaded up MSY's website and showed me where it says 10% restocking fee..
I couldnt be bothered argueing over 5% but i found it strange that another ozbargainer got completely declined.

        • @thesab: I think it depends who you get on the day. The guy that I got, all the stuff he was saying was so bs.

  • Can anyone comment on the Microsoft Bluetooth Notebook Mouse 5000? Looks pretty sweet if i can manage to find it somewhere!

Also any chance of getting 360 controllers still? We have until Feb after all

  • Received my MS Xbox 360 wireless controller from PLE today. Awesome controller I'd say. Now just the waiting game on my cashback…

  • Anyone know if KOGAN qualifies for this cashback deal or just the eight sellers listed on www.microsoft.com.au/cashback

    • +2

The full list of participating retailers as stated in the terms and conditions is in the deal description, and no, Kogan is not included in the list.

  • priced matched the Wireless Comfort 3000 at officeworks! total $11.70 :)

  • Just installed the wireless 3000 on my desktop. Had a few little issues… first one, the keyboard seemed awfully laggy, most keypresses wouldn't register. Turns out the range on the wireless dongle is pathetic, had to use a USB extender to move it closer to the keyboard. So now typing on it is OK, but none of the hotkeys work - eg can't change volume, start/stop music or use the calculator button, all of which I use a lot! Tried downloading the MS software for the keyboard and mouse etc, no joy. Meh - unless someone can help me fix it I'm going back to my Logitech wireless!

    • my is perfectly ok and every key works. setup was a breeze as i just plug the receiver in and it downloaded the latest driver automatically. Mind you i'm using windows 8.1. Which windows are you using?

    • I take it you'd dispute Microsoft's claim:
"Enjoy the 2.4-gigahertz (GHz) wireless technology, which delivers a reliable connection with up to a 9-metre/30-foot range, with virtually no interference"

    • Got mine a couple years ago as a M/KB combo, and had the range issue as well for the KB only. It was really horrible to use, until I put a USB extension to have the dongle right up it.

As for hotkeys, mine works fine. But try installing IntelliType. With it you can disable some shortcuts, or make new ones, along with macros if you need.

  • FYI The All In One Keyboard is now available in stock at MSY.

  • got the all-in-one media keyboard (pricematched against $33 MSY) and wedge keyboard (pricematched against $52 budgetpc). what to get for third item?

already have 2 logitech K400R, but i guess if i like the all-in-one better, then i could get a second to replace both of my K400Rs (but then i'd have 4 HTPC keyboards! ahaha).

  • Picked up a wedge kb from Caroline Springs OW last night, matched against cpl. Two were left.

Anyone know of the best bluetooth mouse to pick up?

    • +1

      Looks like 4 options are:
      -wedge touch
      -arc touch
      -sculpt touch
      -sculpt comfort

First three are all bluetrack with touch scroll, while sculpt comfort has regular scroll/tilt wheel and a touch thumb button, but no bluetrack.

Also keen if anyone has any thoughts on these (and any good deals on them!)

      • Yeh, I'm not looking at the wedge touch now, as it looks too small for long usage / casual gaming. I want to be able to use it on an Android device, also. Any insights from the OzBargain knowledgeable?

I'm leaning towards the Arc, provided the dongle is not a requirement for usage.

        • +1

yeah, i'm thinking Arc Touch Bluetooth, for portability. reviews say its slightly awkward and uncomfortable to grip for long periods of use, but the tradeoff is how portable it is folding flat.

the wedge looks more uncomfortable for people that are used to palm grip rather than claw/fingertip.

        • I only checked this response now, but I picked up the Arc Touch Bluetooth (Gray) from MSY Pascoe Vale for $56.10 (before rebate) on ccard. It works well enough, but I have experienced a couple of drop outs of connectivity. Bit annoying, but not a bad mouse to use. Wouldn't pair with my Note 8.0, which was a bit sucky.

I didn't find much issue with grip / awkward use as I'm a fingertip gripper, and as it is the one true grip.

  • +2

Gotta love MSY and their way below RRP pricing.
Picked up $168 of stuff at MSY and will receive $110 cashback.

  • Just picked up my LX-3000 headset. For $8 after cashback, I'm very happy!

  • First time poster but one that has used quite a few things I found on here to very good effect. Totally happy :)

I purchased 3 things thru MSY like Crownie above.
Total Cost $131 with $84 worth of rebated to come. Total Bargain!!!!! I am actually typing on my new Wireless Desktop 3000 keyboard and mouse package. Love it compared to my 2nd hand Microsoft V1 wireless kybd/mouse I have had for more years than I care to remember.
The Redeem form was very easy to complete and fast.

Just one question……… I thought it would ask for your ABN but the form didn't have a spot for it……. so begs the question - why do you need an ABN to take advantage of this deal (or have I missed something)?

Great job to all the original bargain posts of some cracking deals that they find and selflessly share with the rest of us. HYE

    • +1

why do you need an ABN to take advantage of this deal (or have I missed something)?

An ABN was not needed to take part in the promotion. The only mention of ABNs in the T&C is that participating retailers must have a current ABN.

      • Thanks IceCreamBandit…..

I see it is the retailer that you purchase from has to have a current ABN. My bad.

  • Got the All-In-One Media Keyboard from Officeworks today, Got it priced matched to MSY for $33.
He made me pay the MSY restocking fee (10%) on top of the $33 minus the officeworks 5%
    Total was $34.48

    • +4

      That's dodgy as!
      Ended up paying more!!

    • +2

I can't see the justification of factoring in the MSY restocking fee.

The only restocking fee I've ever heard of is when you return the goods for a refund when you've just changed your mind.

      Am I missing something?

      • +1

Yeah thats the restocking fee. I have no idea as well.

  • PLE have some more stock of the wireless controllers. Just got myself one.

  • +2

Got Officeworks Castle Hill to pricematch Megastore on the Sculpt Touch Mouse (Bluetooth). Officeworks normal price is $35, Megastore $28.79, so with 5% discount price came to $25.91.

Cashback is $24, so final cost will be $1.91.

  • Got my Missus the Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 at MSY for what is effectively $17. I couldn't try price-matching at Officeworks because no branches anywhere near me have had stock for 2 weeks.

    • Interesting. I was a little bored at work and gave the OfficeWorks price-match line a call. It took a bit of coaching but after I convinced the lovely lady on the other end that MSY (a) had bricks and mortar stores in SA and (b) had stock she beat the MSY price by 5%.

She said they have "plenty of stock" and are shipping it to the OW store of my choice (free). $5.95 would have got it delivered to my door but that defeats the purpose of beating the MSY price :-)

So the grand total for the Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 with OW price match: $54.15. After MS cashback: $14.15.

      • Well done. I just couldn't make it happen, especially as my local MSY also lacked stock for about 13 days.

  • Does anyone know what sort of a timeframe—less variable than the T&Cs "within 60 days"—we're looking at for the cashback? Currently waiting on three cashbacks from day 1 of the promo (so approx. 2 weeks).

Incidentally, I'm still waiting for Toll to deliver one of my products bought direct from the Microsoft Store. Grr!

  • Has anyone lodged a claim? Once I hit submit it seems to just return to the top of screen and removes my PDF receipt so I'm not sure whether it's been submitted or not.

    • That happened to me. I called the 1800 number and they said I should get an email in about 10 minutes. After another 25 minutes I called again and subsequently emailed everything to the lady I spoke to. She rang me back to confirm I was successful and I persuaded her to email acknowledgement to me so that I had some proof. She promptly did so. Then about 90 minutes after my initial submission I received what may be the automatic acknowledgement email. I recall there were problems with Yahoo! email that afternoon.

      • +1

Thanks PJC - good to know it happened to someone else besides just me. I used hotmail so it's strange if it blocked it from Microsoft.

  • So let me get this straight,
I'm looking at buying a mouse for $40. The RRP on MS website is $100
If I get 40% back which is $40 does that mean it'll be free?

    • +1

      yea

      • That's freaken crazy!
        Cheers

        • which mouse and where? :)

        • @homersyd:

Well I'm wanting to buy it from http://www.stonecomputers.com.au/product/?CategoryID=8&produ…

Can someone tell me if this has he continueous mouse scroll feature? Where it keeps scrolling if you give it a good spin?

        • +2

          @sirs2k:

you'll need to pricematch it at a participating retailer to get the cashback. (list in description above)

        • @caprimulgus:

That sucks! All the participating retailers have very standard mice.
I would like to get something that I can't afford everyday

    • Waiting for someone to make it happen.

  • +2

i just noticed that the product codes on my officeworks invoice are completely different to the ones on the cashback site:
    MIAIOMKBK MICROSOFT MEDIA KEYBOARD (N9Z-00028)
SYMST00027 MS WEDGE MOBILE KEYBOARD (should be U6R-00027)

are these going to be accepted for cashback???

edit: just called them, and they said it should be fine, as long as they can see it's the same item. (hopefully the "AIOMK" in the product code is enough to tell them it's the All In One Media Keyboard!)

    • +1

I dont even have product codes on my officeworks invoice for my ms all in one media keyboard. Upload it for cashback anyway.

  • Has anybody got cashback yet? When should we expect to see it?

    • +1

I'm still waiting on the cashback from the office 360 one late last year (around November)

  • Was able to get the arc keyboard at ow Pitt st for $46.55 as they price matched mwave.com.au

    https://twitter.com/paulbrown73au/status/553442759810367488

Was this (the link) cheaper anywhere else http://www.msy.com.au/wireless/14820-microsoft-p2z-00028-uni… paid $99 at jb's tried to find something on lasoo. What is jb's price match policy. It was a bit cheaper at www.skycomp.com.au

  • +3

Anyone notice that Microsoft are playing games with their RRP?
Lowered RRP ~37% on cashback page, which means $20 less cashback per item.

    http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-au/keyboards
    Wireless Desktop 3000 $129.95 ($Back would be $51.98)
    Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 $149.95 ($Back would be $59.98)

    https://www.microsoft.com.au/cashback/Home/Terms
    Wireless Desktop 3000 $79.95 ($Back would be $31.98)
    Wireless Comfort Desktop 5000 $99.95 ($Back would be $39.98)

    • That's sus… Well I'd assume we just have to reply on the main page (40% cash back page on OP). I'm thinking of the Wireless Deskop 5000, seems like a decent mouse with back and forward buttons

  • +1

Can someone recommend a Microsoft mouse (don't mind a Keyboard & mouse combo) that's decent, does 4-way scrolling and has side buttons?

    • +1 - I'm Looking for the exact same thing, anyone can recommend a good mouse???

      • I went with the kb & mouse 5000. Two extra buttons on mouse (back/forward) and 4 way scrolling.

The wired 4500 mouse looked ok but it says it's got four programable keys which I can't figure out. No reviews mention it, and it looks like only 1 extra buttons on the side.

        • thanks mate, got 1! :) OW pricematched MSY for $54, so only $14 after cashback! win! lol

        • got four programable keys which I can't figure out.

They are not really programmable. You have to map the keycodes on the computer side, which can be done with any or no keys, depending on your device.

  • Is David Jones regarded as a participating store through Dick Smith?

  • Microsoft Wireless 800 K/Board & Mouse - ….officeworks $22 …..check out the link guys https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/179262

    • Wrong link?
      T&C's state:
"Purchases made from auction or bidding websites and overseas online retailers are not eligible."

      • officeworks ?

        • ebay makes it not valid.

  • Has anyone had problems with the redemption form?

I can not seem to pull it up on from the top menu

    https://www.microsoft.com.au/cashback/Home/Terms
    it gives me this
    https://www.microsoft.com.au/cashback/Home/Terms#section3

and when I click on this link it says page not found?

    http://www.www.microsoft.com.au/cashback

Check the link carefully and you fill find the answer.

    • ok strange - it workd now - must have been a browser issue.

  • If anyone is after the Lifecam Studio there were about 3 left at the Officeworks Bondi Junction store. This was about noon today. Most OW stores in Sydney have it listed as being sold out. OW sells it for $99 but price matched with MSY's $58 price for $55.10. The cashback is $40.

  • Picked up the Wireless Desktop 3000 from HN price matched local MSY. Sticker price $79.95, got it for $47, but "just this one time"… lol
(Local MSY and Officeworks didnt have stock!)

  • -1

Has anyone received cashback from MS?

    • I think it took ages last time (months)

    • Still waiting for mine, and my claims were submitted on day 1.

  • Just found this at the right time, currently having my first PC built and needed a KB/M combo and it was a good incentive to pick up a webcam and another KB, just to have a spare. My wife loved the shape of the Comfort 5000 so I grabbed that which was ticketed at $99.95 but scanned $69 @JB. I also had a 20% off voucher left over from a gift card promotion before XMAS so that brought it down to $55. Not bad at all:

    Wireless Comfort 5000 - $55 less $40 CB = $15
Wireless All in One Media Keyboard - $30.40 less $24 CB = $6.40
    LifeCam Studio - $56.05 less $40 CB = $16.05

$141.45 worth of stock for a whopping $37.45.

    • How did you get the lifecam studio for that price?

  • -1

Just wondering… if you return your purchase for refund after redeeming the redemption from MS, do you have to return the cash to MS?

  • Is today the last day or was it yeasterday? Just not sure if the mean "between" as including.

    • Today would be included.

      • Seems all the MS gear is gone from MSY now?

        • Either that or they just removed all the accessories and they'll conveniently reappear tomorrow, which wouldn't make much sense of them to do but I can't imagine them selling out of all MS PC accessories.

  • +1

So I just attempted to put through my two claims on the website as I just received my order and invoice today - so the form was filled out, file attached, but when I clicked on submit it threw up a file not found page! Subsequent attempts have all resulted in the same error. Seeings you have until Feb 20 to claim this shouldn't be the case I'm presuming! Anybody else having the same problem? Have tried in two browsers.

    • Me too!
