Cheapest I could find this holiday season.

Step 1. BUY $50.00 Gift Card - Thanks equavate for the post
Step 2. Gift Card value can only be activated after 24 hours, so come back the next day or anytime after.
Step 3. Price Match with the current Target 3DS XL Promo @ $229.00
Step 4. Upon paying, whip out the 20% voucher docket and pay the $159.00 balance.

Added: JB's price as below:

It depends on the JB some will not accept price match on top of the 20% off voucher as the T&C said only on "ticketed price" which is the price JB offers at the current time.
Still, good job on getting the additional discount.

  • True that, some luck element does come with it I guess. In any case, one can opt for the older model (with an adapter) ticketed at $238.00 and scratch a $20.00 off that.

Please no one buy the old model unless it's heaps cheaper

  • Could also work with the ps vita I guess?

how does this one compare with the BigW deal?- $238 with game and use the spend $90 and get $10 code you only pay $$228 with a free game.

    • Depends on how badly you want Paper Mario.

      • or ask for a same priced alternative game… I got Mario Kart when I grabbed this BigW deal - no hassles whatsoever

    • And if you pay by a 5% discount Wish gift card…

  • You can do this with the normal new 3ds

  • Gene it's the new 3ds xl

    • Yeap, for both the old (Red/Black, Blue/Black/, White etc) and the new metallic ones.

Seriously, who uses bulky AC adapters. I bought a USB charger for like a $1 on ebay and it's much more portable.

This like a half price match deal? Does it meet posting requirement? Good that OP let us know the particular JB did it for him though.
BTW, OP you might need to add "new" in front of the Nintendo as people won't think it is even a bargain if it is not the "new" model.

    • Oh, so that's how you edit a post. First timer here, thanks for the headsup.

I've read comments here that a good number of people actually got the discount even after price matching.

Correct me if im wrong. But isn't the docket voucher, 20% off an item that's equal or under $100.

Based on the other post: https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/172954

It seems you are correct and OP just got lucky.

I think it applies discount 20%off up to $100 ticket price i.e. $20 max discount but you can buy a $2m item will only get $20 off the ticket price. OP got lucky because price matched price isn't ticket price but that JB store did it for him anyway.

  • Thanks! Time to upgrade my old XL.

Thanks! Brought the new 3DS XL from Glen this morning.
$209 is very good price for a new console, I'm sure my kids will love it.

PS: use up my Qantas frequent points for extra $100 coupon even make me more happier.

    • Nice one mate! :)

  • BigW now has a better deal - $238 with Mario game bundle.

    • If JB will pricematch the bundle which incl. Mario Sticker Star for $238 + 20% off; all up should be $208. That would be a very nice deal.

      • especially if they let you substitute mario with an equal value game, then i will definitely jump on this.

        • Substitute MSS for SSB-3DS, MK7 or Zelda:ALBW would make it a killer deal.

I might actually try my luck this silly season since I just bought 2x GCs & also received two 20% vouchers.

Unfortunately JB/EB do not price match bundles unless they offer the same bundle

        • Yup tried it. they dont have paper mario in stock and wont substitute for equal valued game, but tried to still offer to price match the combo without the game as the same price, which was still lower then JBs price…
