      Per disc :-)

      • +4

        15 movies = $6 (and a bit) per movie

This is an awesome price, sucks I've got half of em or I'd be all over it

    • I only have Monsters Inc on bluray and Incredibles and Cars on DVD, so this is perfect for me! :D

The price works out to be a bit more for me due to their Paypal surcharge of £0.50.

  • These are the UK versions hopefully?

    • +4

It says Region B, which I believe includes Europe and Australia :-)

      • I read this and then I bought them anyway. I'm not sure why I did that…I…I think I have problems…Plz send help!

  • Great deal, would have been better if the Ozzie dollar was up in its 90s.

    • This is in British Pounds not US dollars

  • Nice one, my son would love this, thanks op

  • I don't have Blue-Ray, but would love to get the same DVDs for £44.99

May I ask why? BD players are also backwards compatible

  • i thought they remove the tax if its an overseas address?

    • Yes with Amazon UK (25% VAT), but not with Zavvi

      • BUt zavvi only charge 0.99pound per order for shipping. Amazon charge around 2-3 pound per item for shipping.

  • Ordered one last week and they don't appear to have any in stock yet, still waiting for it to be shipped out.
Also since it's only 15/17 movies, what is in the extra discs?

    • Includes Pixar Shorts: Volume 1 and 2?

      • But it says 22 discs, so including the 2 volumes on 2 separate blu-rays that would still only be 17/19 discs?
Also finally got notification that it has been dispatched.

  • Are most blu-rays and dvds that can be bought from US and UK region locked?

Do most people have region locked blu rays and dvd players?

    • UK Blurays are the same region as ours.
US Blurays don't work here, unless region free, websites can confirm individual titles, but general studios stick to a common theme.
DVDs are region locked from anywhere overseas, but most players handle them fine.

  • Just received an email that my order is shipped!

  • got an email saying theyre still trying to get some stocks…

  • As the op mentions amazon, looking at the reviews, the product has a significant amount of 1 star reviews.

    • You have to read carefully, most of them are US buyers who complained that some discs are not region free.

During preorder last year Amazon UK incorrectly stated that all discs were region free. However after they received the discs some were locked to region B, and it took a while for Amazon to update the listing. This shouldn't be a problem for oz buyers.

Just received Disney Pixar Boxset today 24/12.

The boxset is split or crushed on every corner because NO packaging used, just stuffed in a satchel! Not happy and have complained and insisted on big discount or return and refund at their expense.

Also, only received 1 out 3 items (other titles) even though I ordered on the 4/12, plenty of time for xmas you would think. Even though when I purchased it was marked as in stock, it was backordered, as most have commented above.

This is my second order with them, the last time same thing damaged blu-ray boxset no packaging used. Only gave them another chance because they gave me 50% refund after haggling.

How can a big company be so unprofessional with shipping. There are heaps of complaints in forums about their packaging, no doubt they have had a tsunami of feedback about it - yet they don't change anything!

I won't be giving them a third chance no matter how good a bargain - unless it is something that can't be damaged in shipping of course.

    • Mine arrived with crushed corners and two splits in the corners. They only offered a 15% refund. I'd rather have a new one but i fear it would arrive damaged also.

      • Still waiting on mine and I think I was one of the first ones to order as well haha.

        • Yeah I'm still waiting for mine also! Was confirmed shipped about 4 weeks ago too?!

      • That's only their first offer, they are just low-balling you! Be tough with them.

I previously got 50% off for a damaged boxset after I told them I would rather return at their expense for a full refund than accept the small 15% partial refund offer. Shipping back to the UK is very expensive, so they agreed to 50% refund.

This time however I'm so ticked off I just want a refund, I'm not interested in keeping damaged goods even with a discount.

Their first reply stated "We take every measure to ensure that items are delivered securely to our customers."

Fragile item thrown in a satchel is taking every measure to ensure safe delivery.. what a joke!

And I still haven't received the rest of my order from early December.

        • I guess this is what happens with 99p flat rate shipping, though you'd still think they'd be able to afford proper packaging since they don't take off 20% vat like Amazon UK does.

        • @johnjones8:You are actually paying a lot more than 99p shipping - that's just the explicit shipping charge, there is a much larger built-in (hidden) shipping charge.

They should be subtracting the 20% VAT for international buyers but they don't - their prices viewed in other currencies, are about the same they charge their UK customers. Their prices should really be 20% less (before shipping) as they are not required to collect VAT on international sales - Amazon UK does it correctly and transparently, it subtracts VAT and then adds a shipping charge.
Zavvi uses the 20% better margin on international sales to help pay for their higher cost of shipping. They charge the token amount of 99p, which makes buyers think they are getting a deal. But you are really paying much more than 99p it's just not transparent - a much larger shipping component is built-into the price with a small explicit charge. Now that's fine, most online stores build free shipping into their prices. The problem here is most buyers accept the lack of packaging and any damage as a result as part of the deal, thinking they only really paid 99p shipping and shouldn't expect much.

As buyers we still expect free shipping to include proper packaging so orders arrive undamaged. For some reason Zavvi (and The Hut) the small 99p shipping charge has perversely changed many buyers expectations, instead they think "my goods arrived damaged, I'm being petty I'll just put up with it, I only paid 99p shipping, I shouldn't expect proper packaging…"

        • @rokufan: But that's the thing with some of their better deals though, even with the extra 20% VAT it's still cheaper than Amazon UK or US with delivery fees or local which is why it's easy for customers to overlook. I agree with you that even with free shipping other stores still endeavor to use proper padding and boxes, so Zavvi/TheHut are definitely skimping and hoping the customers will write off any damage as the result of cheap shipping.

        • @johnjones8: I've jumped on their cheap deals too, blu-ray boxsets. I ordered 3 times last year and every time quite badly damaged boxes. It's not a good deal when what you order is damaged!

I won't order from them again unless it's something non-fragile like clothing.
