MYER - Sonos Play 1 $254, Play 3 $374, Play 5 $499 (Online Only)

100

These speakers don't seen to be discounted too often, if you're in the market for Sonos speakers, check Myer out as some of them are on discount. Online only by the looks of it.

It takes the discount off once you put it into the cart.

Play 1 $254
Play 3 $374
Play 5 $499

$15 off for every $75 spent on small electrical kitchen appliances, microwaves, TV's, cameras, camcorders and photographic accessories. Discount will automatically apply at checkout.

Unfortunately not as good as the 20% off 1 day tech sale Myer had but better than nothing. Also it only applies for the 1,3,5, and the bridge. The Soundbar and sub aren't included. I also can't find an end date for the offer as well.

  • How does Sonos compare to Bose?

    • +1

I haven't heard the bose ones but a friend back home has the Sonos sound system. The quality for wireless speakers was fairly impressive and the ease to set them up and get music going was fairly simple.

  • +1

    better wireless capacity

  • You can also combine with AMEX $50 offer for Myer spend above $250 and get further $50 off

Experienced users - can you pls detail - is it better to buy 2 Play 1 as compared to 1 Play 5…same price..i hv put in both orders now and will return one depending on the final decision.

    • It really depends on what you want to do. If it is for a single large room, go the Play 5. If you go two Play 1s then you can put them in different rooms and play different music on each one.

      • when does the two play 1 sound better than one play 5 assuming they are bought for one room only?

        • I would go with 2xplay 1. Pair it as stereo pair and option to use it as 5.1 setup down the track

        • The play 1s don't have the same range of drivers, as such they won't produce as wide a range of frequencies. If you don't mind missing out on the bass (that's the other main difference) then play 1s will probably be fine.

As silverx said, you should be able to make a stereo pair with the play 1s, which can be useful too.

There was one other feature the play5 had, which is the aux input so you can connect phones, tablets and other audio devices and send that signal to other rooms.

Unfortunately, if the Play 1 cost $1 more then they would be down to $240. But, if you add a Liquid Descaler for $6.95 a Play 1 will come down to $245.95 or $484.95 for 2. Similar process for the Play 3 and 5.

Note: The liquid descaler was the cheapest product I could find in the kitchen appliances, microwaves, TV's, cameras, camcorders and photographic accessories range.
