I avoided this collectors edition due to the lack of quality of the items.
I actually had this on pre order when it was announced, cancelled it after the big who-ha about the suitcase.
The suitcase is by all accounts one of the best parts of the set, decent quality though plastic (if anyone actually expected a high quality aluminium case at this price point they're off their rocker though).
The Tesseract is cheaper plastic than expected and doesn't look right, the LED is also no way near as powerful as shown in display image.

The discs are held in cardboard sleeves, this is a huge peeve of mine. I take care of my discs and in order to prevent them from being scratched companies have used cd/DVD/blu Ray cases to great effect for over 2 decades however for some unknown reason (likely cost) the decision was made to forego protecting the reason that people want the product (the movies).

In my opinion the last point was were I lost all interest in the collectors edition, it's akin to a pizza shop not wanting to pay for cardboard pizza boxes and instead handing you your pizza thrown in to a plastic bag.
There are positives such as exclusive content but they don't outweigh the negatives for me.

If people are still interested or have actually purchased the set (I've merely searched a lot of reviews and unboxing videos when trying to decide if it was worth getting) I'd love to hear.

    • I have bought it for my son. Although region 1A he insisted that his friend managed to play this in Australia without any issue. I will let you know once it arrived.

      • The discs will definitely play in Australian players, they are region free.
