Be careful as theres quite a few reviews saying it wears out easily especially how it starts sticking after a few uses.

Even on other sites like Walmart:
"The good reviews were from people who had just received the cookware. I also loved mine for the first few months. My large fry pan has never had metal utensils used on it, but it scratched from hard plastic. I cooked scrambled eggs this morning in the small frypan using oil and the eggs still stuck to the pan. How disappointing. I so want a set of pans that work well!"

    • Depends on how you look after your cookware.

Ive had mine for a year or so and they are good as new.

I initially seasoned them with coconut oil (apply a layer to the surface and heat on medium for 2 min).

As long as you look after the pans, they will last. If you mistreat them a few times, you could damage the non stick surface.

      • posts the deal, provides some tips and gets a neg - weird.

  • Here is the complete list of good things about ceramic cookware:

    • This is not Ceramic - it is Ceramic Coating !

  • Brands are bit normal. Need more colours and best brands. Is new brands available with similar deal.

  • hmm..doesn't come up with amazon global standard shipping as an option?

So-called eco-friendly, ceramic utensils may contain toxic metals like arsenic, an Israeli journalist investigates. It’s in the colors, so also be wary of color-coated knives!

We buy them at health food stores because the ceramic coated pans are supposedly safer than teflon, and good for the planet. A new investigative report by an Israeli consumer protection TV show called Kolbotek finds that ceramic cookware may damaging to your health, and could contain lead and cadmium, which cause a number of serious medical problems such as brain damage (especially in small children), and certain types of cancer. The problem is with the lack of regulation on the materials used to color the pots and pans, and these colors made with cadmium and lead, can leak into your food.

I would better buy stainless steel heavy bottom pans.

      cool story brah

ceramic cookware may damaging to your health

So does teflon coated cookware, yet we still see major stores sell them
So does the sun, it can damage your skin cells, yet we still go to the beach
So does processed food, yet we still enjoy eating it
So does MSG, yet we see Asian restaurants still sell them
So does water in many third world countries, yet we still enjoy our holidays in Thailand and Vietnam
So does polluted air with carbon monoxide, yet we still breathe it
So does driving, yet we still drive to work

    • The manufacturer states clearly: "PTFE-Free, PFOA-Free, Cadmium-Free".

Kolbotek found that the materials are in the colours. Yet the pans posted by OP are white… Additionally, this program is in Israel. It is a leap of faith to believe that a lack of regulations in one country apply to all countries. In the US, noncommercial housewares are unregulated, except: "The FDA will take immediate action to protect the public’s health if the nonstick coating is found to adulterate food with unsafe substances."

You can feel safe with stainless steel but still there is a nickel and chromium risk particularly if you didn't know that scouring with steel wool would damage the surface. As no cookware can be guaranteed safe, should we simply downvote every cookware deal on ozb?

  • Is the stainless steel set a kids toy?

    • Yes

  • There is no standard shipping option, have to pay for postage fee ?!
