Warning people: careful with harvey online, I ordered a 64gb version few weeks back and they came back a week later saying no stock, then another week before refunding my money. Then my friend bought the 256gb version off them and it arrived WITHOUT the keyboard bonus.
My new theory with Harvey norman is that if it is not in store it is not worth the risk!
I have a post which has this same surface pro 2 @ estore for $899 without the keyboard. It was delivered within a day or two no issues. Australian stock. Yes it is an extra 50 or so dollars once I got the keyboard but I am happy to pay that extra so I am not bent over by Harvey normans appalling service.
Got the surface 3 yesterday and experiencing overheating issues with just light browsing and downloading. Gets hot at the back, cores were around 70degress, thats very hot and I havent even played any games on it yet.
Not sure if it a defective tablet but will be returning tomorrow!!
My friend's one has the same issue when he first for his one. I did some light browsing for an hour and it got so hot it could give you a burn.
I recommend updating it first.

I bought my Surface about more than a year back. Was so happy using it that I have bought surface three about one month back and gave Surface 1 to my son. I do not have any issues as mentioned by you, yes you may want to update the software, if it still doesn't resolve the issue consider contacting Microsoft.
Which model surface pro 3 did you purchase? I read only the i7 variants have overheating problems. Correct me if I'm wrong.
I bought 128 gig, bought 128 gig sandisk sdxc card from Amazon to make it 256 gig. No issues at all very happy. I Hope this answers the query. Processor is I 5.

This happened to me 2 weeks ago with the 64gb version, they pretty much had my money for the 2 weeks whilst 'looking interstate for stock' before finally refunding me!I wouldn't want the 64GB personally. I think the 256GB version is the best size and would give you many years of use.
This is a great price for the Surface Pro2 with a keyboard so if you are in the market for an upgrade its a nice early Xmas gift. My wife has the Surface Pro 3 (no over heating problems) and while its a very nice tablet it's in between being too big as a tablet and too small as a notebook, but does both jobs ok. I prefer the Surface 2 size and use a dock (from Amazon) to connect to my monitor. A very fast computer and highly recommend it at this price.How much did you pay for the dock for SP2?
I was about to get a SP3 as it seems that finally i can combine both tablet and pc into one. But really I still feel that using ipad and ibook provide the best experience of reading pdf magazines.
Also, those throttling, yellow lcd screen, overheat and freeze up issues for SP3 users reported online are quite scary.

Hardly. Comparing the screen with a 14" Chromebook yesterday, the height is the same, just loses a bit in terms of width. But then it more than makes up with the 2160x1440 resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. It fits a lot more content on the screen and reading newspapers and magazines in portrait mode is perfect. The Surface Pro 3 is an amazing piece of hardware.
Would still rather Harvey than Kogan though.

Ordered one as I couldn't find in store anywhere in Victoria. I see there is some stock in NSW store/s so hopefully they won't have issues securing stock like some had with the 64gb model. Was going to order this with HN's previous deal but glad I waited now as it's slightly cheaper than before.

No. They've messed up. By Weds I had no order status update, so I called their online staff, and they claimed it was shipped and told me they would send me the tracking number. However I received a tax invoice only. Still no shipping notification. They said they are out of stock on the type cover and will be sending separately, but now I am suspecting they are waiting on that and will be shipping them together. Going to call now and find out what the real story is…
Sorry to hear mate. Sounds like they sold more stock than they had. That's why I'm hesitant to purchase from Harvey Norman unless its to pickup in store.
@YellowKnight: Called them earlier and they insist it's been shipped on Tues from a stock centre in QLD (I'm in VIC). I guess I will wait and see if it turns up on Monday. Seriously, why doesn't anything arrive on a Friday!
As for the type cover, no idea when that's going to arrive! Still no tracking number provided for the Surface though (no shipping confirmation email like I would normally get from HN), so it's just guesswork when it's going to turn up :(
@wasabinator: That must be so frustrating for you. I'm sort of glad I didn't purchase one now, but I really would have liked the 128GB version as that seemed very much more value for money. I hope you get it soon.
@YellowKnight: It finally arrived today, and it's awesome as I expected. In fact, I am typing on it now. The type cover is coming separately, so no idea how long that will take!
@YellowKnight: It sounds like their online sales just use an inventory for all stores and whichever has it left i.e. tablet, will send it from their store.
And this time no store had the keyboard left and that's why they had to order it in.
My type cover 2 arrived today and was PINK. Fortunately, my local HN had no less than 7 grey TC2's in stock and were happy to exchange my one. What a lot of hassle for something that was waiting nearby all alone (of course they didn't actually have the SP2 in stock there, so that's why I ordered online in the first place).
