    Don't forget 2% cashback

    • How do you get the 2% cashback.
I have already bought and paid for the phone, is it too late?

      • +2

Yeah too late to do it know unless if you can cancel the transaction and buy it again.

You can do it by creat an account with Cash Rewards and log in,
Then visit eBay vie the cash reward website and buy the item

        • -1

Damn! Ahh well it's only 8 bucks.

          Thanks for the reply!

        • -4

@beerbudget: lool I just bought a phone for ~$700 and forgot about the cash back, how epic is that haha.
I was afraid to miss it, was iphone 6 plus 64gb au stock

        • -2

          @beerbudget:
Where are the downvotes on this?

          Poor form Ozbargain!

          :)

    • How do I know I got 2%? I signed up through Cash rewards, logged in and clicked on the Ebay store then pasted the URL of the OneplusOne group buy listing and clicked purchase but I haven't received an email :/

      • if you did it in the right way it may takes couple of days to show up in your account.

  • Dimensions: 152.9 x 75.9 x 8.9mm/6.02 x 2.98 x 0.35 inch

do these bend like the iphone 6?

  • Used to be $481, good price imo. Cheapest u can get is $465 off the DWI website. And this is the 64GB running cyanogen…

  • Can you stack the QFF points and Cashrewards ?

    • no

  • Bugger, i bought the LG G3 last night. I was torn between the two

    • If you don't mind may I ask how much you get it for?

      • Got it from DWI. All up including surcharges/insured freight etc $550

        • Is it the 32GB version?

If so, I'd say that's pretty good. You can add a 64GB card for 96GB.

  • Purchaser is responsible for all return shipping fees and insurance charges to the address of our choosing.

    hmmm..

  • +3

Nice nice… Not as appealing anymore though

    • Still a good price for a good phone. What holds me back is the warranty and the prospect of a newer model coming soon.

      • Isn't there always the prospect of a better phone? The next phone from oneplus probably isn't for a good 7+ months, and the limited stock means this phone isn't freefalling in price like a lot of other flagships

      • +7

For me honestly smartphones haven't progressed that far enough recently beyond rediculous and irrelevant screen resolutions to warrant delaying a purchase. The next model of anything is barely a progression. That plus the fact if they announce a new phone say in 6months and the first version has taken sooo long to get your hands on one let alone at a reasonable price near the 'only $300s'.

Plus these are so cheap in comparision to their rip off equivalents you could just resell and buy the next version without much coin.

      • whats wrong with the warranty? still 1 year local from DWI ?

      • +1

Definitely warranty is a concern… And honestly, I doubt DWI will send it back to have it fixed which would lead to weeks of wait.

Maybe you'll get a refurbished one and considering how there have been many complaints of quality issues, I'm reluctant

Bloody good price for a good specced phone, just the quality, lack of official warranty is a worry.

I do look forward to the next model seeing as the n6 has disappointed

        • I've had a phone RMA'd from DWI. You send it to their tech shop in the CBD and if they can't fix it they'll post it to the country they bought it from for official warranty. Took about 6 weeks, i just told them to send the phone back. Express posted back from korea and went straight to ebay for parts since they didn't honor warranty.

    • Still a better phone all around comparing to Nexus 5. Screen quality is lacking though, black level and contrast ratio are both sub-par. Picture taken from the main camera also has some colour shift issue. If you can get over those little issues it's still the best performing phone in the market. The sheer speed blows G3 & Note 4 out of the water.

      • +1

I have this phone and while I do have the latest Samsung g-tab pro, (which has a lower ppi screen) there is nothing wrong with this screen, which actually has good blacks.
It is a handsome phone with a good quality finish and really powerful SOC spec.
I would be interested if there are other phones of such good quality and value. I do recommend the rhino screen or similar, but the back is nice and easy to grip.

  • -1

ah dang it… bought 2 x opo from dwi @ $464/469 over the past 4wks… oh wells, gotta sell 2x brand new note4 we got from signing up with virgin and hopefully get close to $1.8k?

  • where can i find the 16gb or is it not available?

    • +1

16GB only available in certain places, and you're only saving ~$50. 16GB is not enough without expandable memory.

  • +7

Finally make the order, was thinking between LG G2, SONY Z ULTRA, ONE PLUS ONE.

Too many first time. first time using Ebay, paypal, cashrewards. i even find a gift coupon in my ebay account which give me another $50 off.
therefore, i paid $378 for this phone, and maybe get 2% cashback for some chages. wouldn't that be nice?

though i am a Chinese and able to buy it in china and find friends to deliver it, at $378, it is even cheaper than buying from China. great.

    • dude how did you get that 50 bucks coupon?? lol

      First time ebay???
Is it your first time in ozbargain that you can't +1?

  • +1

why isnt the sony xperia z2 considered a good contender to this phone? its like 500 bucks delivered from most sellers and only downside is comes with 16gb built it but you can expand it, almost all of its other features either match or beat the one plus one:
same cpu, same gpu, same ram, same battery
5.2 fhd screen vs 5.5 opo fhd screen, no winner here because its based on what the individual likes.
    z2 water & dust proof
    better camera on z2
z2 operating system is not heavily bloated and close to stock android, you can put cyanogenmod on it if you want.

    • It is a good contender, who said it isn't?

People like the O+O because of the price :)

      • yeh fair enough, so this deal is $428 which is a very good price, but for $70 more you can have a z2 which comes with more features as listed above. doesn't that seem like the better buy?

        • Well of the features you list, only Camera and Dust/water proof are advantages. (Cyanogenmod is closer to stock Android than any of the Brand name phones)
Are they worth an extra $70?
Plus the inbuilt memory difference is significant.. Add on an extra $45 to buy a low end 64Gb microSD and the difference is now >25%.

        • +1
        • @scubacoles: My g watch supports resistance, though I give small value to the gimmick in any event. Wouldn't dispense One's cooling.

        • @daver: Not even close

    • Price (~20% extra?), screen size, possible slow software updates (no longer the flagship although the Z2 should be fine for now), generally cyanogenmod > xperia UI.

When all things are considered (basically screen size vs camera), you'd favor the significantly cheaper phone, but it's not like no one is ignoring the z2

      • Xperia UI isn't too bad. Was using it on my mates Xperia Z the other day and it was pretty snappy. Camera's on Sony phones are usually good quality and the Z2 has been considered one of the best. Local warranty support is another factor which is important to a lot of people and Sony are pretty good in Australia. Don't know why their smartphones haven't taken off like Samsung, LG and HTC.

      • as i said you can put cyanogenmod on it which is what the OPO is running, z2 screen size might be considered a positive for some since its easier to handle, i guess its subjective so screen is a draw.

camera is obviously better on the z2. and price is not %20 extra, $430 vs $500

        • 16gb vs 64?

        • @Elijha: did you read my last post? "only downside is comes with 16gb built it but you can expand it"

    • +2

The only real pros Z2 has over Oneplus is the camera and maybe for some people water proof. I haven't tested z2's screen so I cant comment on the quality.

The other way around though Oneplus has

      • A vast superior OS. Customizations, security features, the support will be on par with Nexus
      • $70 cheaper price which is a significant bit and still offer 64g storage. That makes about $100 difference in real life assuming you buy a decent 64g micro sd for the z2
      • Physical button option. It gives you a larger screen estate

I personally will not consider Z2 a contender.

      • you can put cyanogenmod on the z2, again screen is subjective,
i agree with you about the storage but and yeh 100 difference sounds about right.
however like you said z2 being waterproof and having a better camera, and coming form a reputable brand doesn't that make it worth the $100 extra? not to mention all the reports ive been reading on the OPO having screen and gps issues..
im not hating on the OPO it seems like a great phone im just comparing to see which is the better buy here.

        • +1

it just comes down to whether you think those things are worth the $100 as you said.
a good camera (OPO) vs a great camera (Z2). some people don't particularly require a great camera to use, it's more of a thing that's just included for them. so this would be suitable for them. Obviously if you want to be taking a lot of low-light shots or other difficult scenarios then the Z2 is definitely worth.

64GB is quite a substantial amount of storage. And for some people being waterproof and dustproof is merely a gimmick. Although I can see some uses for it in heavy rain, but at the same time I would still probably wait to use it under shelter (but it is handy for those unexpected accidents).

All in all I would agree that the Z2 would be a worthy purchase for $100 more, but that doesn't mean it's a better purchase. For some people they simply just don't find those features attractive. To put it in perspective if you add $100 to the Z2 price you're in the LG G3 local price (cheapest I've seen is $549). So I mean incremental price increases get you further up the models, just whether they appeal to you or not.

        • @Astro551: yeh agreed, although i consider the g3 inferior to the z2 or the opo, the screen is overkill, bad battery life, only 2gb of ram in the 16gig, also the camera not as good as z2, and the device gets hot, everyone talks about how laggy the OS gets at some points so yeh i consider it inferior to he z2 and the OPO.

        • +1

The problem with sealing up a phone completely, from water and dust, is the problem of heat dissipation.

This problem has affected some of the Sony mob. line 'cause they can overheat when recording video at 4K for more than a couple of minutes. Maybe in some other situations too.

Glass traps in heat really well. Some manufacturers have to slow down the performance of their mobs. to reduce this overheating issue. I am sure there are faults with the Oneplus 1, but it is made by the Oppo stable that make the quality "Find" range of mobs.

The Find 7 (and other mobs), are too expensive, but have amazing specs etc., but it is better to upgrade modestly and be a little conservative on splashing the cash.

    • the 5MP front cam with a wider angle on the OPO cannot be overlooked by #selfie whores

  • +1

Does this include GST ? going overseas soon need to claim TRS

    • +1

It comes from HK so no GST.

    • No TRS refund:(
At least Cash rewards brings it down below $420

      • That is Dope.

  • Is it dual sim or single sim.

    • -4

      single

      • +2

I've obviously been given negative votes because I voted negatively against the deal. This specific, single word post was correct and yet it was given neg votes.

  • Damn, that's cheaper than the RRP I think?

    • RRP is USD $349 for the 64GB (plus shipping)
Probably gonna cost you approx arround $450 incl. shipping fees to Australia.
So it is definately a great buy if you are after OPO

  • -8

This looks like it's not the international version, rather it's the Chinese / Color OS version that has been flashed with CyanogenMod 11S.

Check your 4G frequencies, and future software support.

    Edit:
    4G on this phone: 2100/1800/2600MHz
    4G on international phone: 700, 1,700, 1,800, 2,100, 2,300 and 2,600 MHz

    • Do you know the difference between the international version and the chinese version?
The 4G frequencies are different but they are not applicable for Australia.

I own this phone from DWI and received OTA update… .

      See Whirlpool Wiki - http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_oneplus

NB.1 Woindering why you neg the deal?

      NB.2 I didn't neg your comment

      • -4

Actually the 4G different frequencies are applicable to Australia with most big telcos using the 700Mhz frequency for 4G from the new year.

        • +4

No its not… the 700Mhz in the international (US) version is different than the proposed 700Mhz for Australian 4G

See Wiki Thread: the Australian 700MHz band is Band 28, which is different from the USA 700MHz Band 17

tl;dr - even if you own the international version, unfrotunately your phone won't support Australian 700MHz band

        • +1

          Great intel - thanks :)

      • -3

As mentioned, the differences I know of are the 4G frequencies and the software.

Does your phone run CM11S? If so, I assumed wrong. I thought that the flashed versions of this phone would not receive OTA updates.

If you check out the Wikipedia article on 4G Australia you can see that we do indeed use more than just 1800/2100/2600 MHz. As a Canberran on Optus, the 2300 MHz frequency is critical for me.

        • +4

Yes my phone came with CM11S and received the latest OTA update - no problem.
And unfortunatey you are wrong about the 4G compatibility.

          Internation Verison's compatible 4G Bands: 1 / 3 / 4 / 7 / 17 / 38 / 40
          Chinese (flashed with CM11S) Version's 4G Bands: 1 / 3 / 7 / 38 / 39 / 40

The Optus 2300 MHz is band 40 which is available on both version

Please refer to the Whirlpool WIki thread for details

PS> I didn't neg your first comment and not sure why my first comment got neg'd

        • +5

Tony, you should retract your Neg and maybe do some research before commenting with random facts.

If your using the OPO within Australia there is absolutely no benefit of getting the International version.

Chinese version: will give you added bands for the Asia Region.
International: will give you added bands for the US.

Besides that the phones are IDENTICAL.

Buying the DWI Chinese version is far more beneficial as you have local warranty & you don't have to use a mail forwarding service.

So sick of all the miss information about the International version being superior.

        • +1

          @millzy:

So sick of all the miss information about the International version being superior.

Exactly! But you forgot one thing….the international version has Cyanogenmod branding on the back!

        • @neos: Seriously: the DWI has the Cyanogenmod already installed for you, so less stuffing around and it comes with the LOCAL WARRANTY.
Who cares about some exterior branding.
Buy a bright cover with CID on it!

        • @Bappy: I'm being negged for negging the deal, I suspect.

        • +2

@millzy: Looks like my neg was automatically retracted.

As I understood at the time of my original post the Chinese version of the OPO didn't support 2300 MHz. I thought I had done my research. Obviously I don't understand enough about these frequencies and bands but I honestly thought I did at the time.

        • @marcozmitch:
Each to their own .. as above comments some prefer to have the international warranty over the local warranty from DWI which includes long turn around time and poor service.

          (I haven't dealt with them so i don't know)

        • +1

          @SmiTTy:

I'm not sure if you're aware of the International warranty service/process?

Google it, it's some of the worst warranty available. DWI's local warranty trumps the International warranty.

Also, you need to setup mail forwarding once again to receive the phone through International warranty.

I don't believe any Australian buyer would willingly want OPO International warranty over DWI local warranty if they knew the facts.

    Any one get this?

I used my mobile to make payment and it went through successfully

  • +2

Great Phone, however im in the process of sending it back to DWI under warranty as the microphone has stopped working, and the caller on the other end can only hear me if i place the phone on speaker phone.

If im recording a video or using snapchat, viber etc it records sound perfectly.

    • So do you have to send it back to HK or to a service point here in OZ? And do they give you a estimated turn around time?

      • +1

To be honest i am not sure yet, still communicating with DWI over ebay and they have been incredibly slow. They have stated that it has 1 year warranty and it will need to be sent back, but have not said where exactly.

i have done factory reset and also flashed it back to color OS and a newer version of Cyanogen-mod and both have the same problem with the microphone. So my best bet is the main microphone has failed and the alternative other two microphones still work which is why the caller can hear me when i place it on speakerphone.

Would be good if they would allow me to purchase this deal and just refund and resend my old phone back.

        • I've used them before, but this is through their website. They're terrible in terms of customer service, the person attending to my case could not comprehend my issue too well, I had to use Google translate from English to Chinese to explain my phone issue that arrived dead. They don't understand the term dead on arrival too well, and only seemed interested in guiding me through their standard "is your phone working" process.

    • How long did you use it for before the microphone stopped working?

  • Will this model supports Australian Vodafone LTE bands? I thought Voda has 850MHz and 1800MHz for 4G and this oneplus one support only 1800MHz? What does this mean in reality?

    • That sounds like a software problem rather than hardware. Maybe you can fix it by returning to factory setting, and restore it after from backup.

    • +2

AFAIK - 850MHz is the 3G band which OPO supports.

The VF 1800MHZ (or LTE Band 3) is supported by both Interantional and Chinese (flashed with CM11S) version of OPO.

      • +4

        Correct.

        http://whirlpool.net.au/wiki/mobile_phone_oneplus

        Chinese specs:
        http://www.oneplus.cn/yijiashouji/spec
        2G GSM:850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz
        3G TD-SCDMA:1800-1920 / 2010-2025 (* TD-SCDMA is not used in Australia)
        3G WCDMA:2100 / 1900 / 850 / 900 MHz
        4G LTE: 1 / 3 / 7 / 38 / 39 / 40

To confuse things, the Chinese specifications lists the TD-LTE frequencies as Downlink Frequency ranges instead of Frequency Bands or band numbers. The list above has translated them into Band numbers for direct comparison with the International version.

As a comparison here are the current and planned Australian 4G network frequencies https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/4G_Australia

        Telstra 1800 3 4G FD-LTE 10 to 20 MHz
        Telstra 700 28 4G FD-LTE 20 MHz
        Telstra 2600 7 4G FD-LTE 40 MHz
        Telstra 900 8 4G FD-LTE 5 MHz
        Optus 2300 40 4G TD-LTE
        Optus 2600 7 4G FD-LTE 20 MHz
        Optus 1800 3 4G FD-LTE
        Optus 700 28 4G FD-LTE 10 MHz
        VF 1800 3 4G FD-LTE up to 30 MHz
        TPG 2600 7 4G FD-LTE 10 MHz
