One notable building is the new 50 Martin Place (former Commonwealth, now Macquarie Bank) Scheduled talks will be taking place for the public as part of the city-wide event. Talks at 50 Martin Place include:

The building heritage: George Philips (Tanner Kibble Denton) 10am, 12pm, 2pm – Banking Chamber
The major enhancements: Paul van Ratingen (Johnson Pilton Walker) 10.30am, 12.30pm, 2.30pm – Level 10

Not a massive discount - but have heard a lot of interest generating for this event - buy yourself a discounted lunch or save that $5, all counts towards something!

  • you have to pay? How Sydney

    • If I remember correctly, not all the buildings are publicly accessible. I guess it's some sort of "inconvenience" toll that people have to pay.

Lots of cities have building open days which are free

Sydney Open! Is Roger Federer playing?

    • I'll go for Li Na!!

  • Visit Melbourne next year! Open House Melbourne is a free event: http://www.openhousemelbourne.org/!

  • Also included in this are access to the Sydney Town Hall clocktower, the St. Andrew church belltower and the QVB Dome. These are not publicly accessible areas so seems cheap to me!

  • Read that website carefully, the way I read it is that those limited access tours are $30 extra (per tour)and now booked out. Not a bargain to me.
