Does the dead-tree cattledog have any details on exactly what is on sale? I couldn't find anything on-line beyond the banner.

bright red front page stating everything must go

The Aldi website mentions UP TO 50% OFF SELECTED SPECIAL BUYS not "everything". Can you please confirm it is "everything in store"?

I think only those clearance items, use to have that in some stores.

The small text at the bottom says that any stock item that is greater than 4 weeks old will be discounted.

    • I can't find the text mentioning the 4 weeks :s

      • While stocks last - please note stocks are limited and will vary between stores. Despite our careful planning, we apologise if selected items may sell out on the first day due to unexpected high demand. In the event of unexpected high demand, ALDI Stores reserves the right to limit purchases to reasonable quantities. Prices are correct at time of uploading and are subject to change.

So finding a christmas ham and trying to hide it in the store for 4 weeks wont work???

      • Maybe if you hid it 4 weeks ago?

Sounds like it would only be the old special buys.

It is rare, but sometimes there might be something left worth getting in the odd store here and there.

  • Should wait till saturday and post some bargains. Otherwise not really a bargain yet

As mentioned above, it is not "Everything". Otherwise that would be absolute madness :)

    It's just "selected items"

My local store has had huge number of vegetable gardens reduced to $29.99 for weeks. For $15 they would be a bargain.

The checkout man said today they are trying to clear their warehouse hence the sale and they were expecting it to be busy :)

makes sense as they have to make way for xmas stock, which traditionally is the retailer's most profitable time of year, what does interest me is i don't remember them doing this big sale in previous years, is this proof that consumers have been holding back this past year?

    • I am assuming that they want to make room for Xmas stock.

meh, Certainly NOT everything, DO not mislead!!!!

just clearing old specials stuff from store to store.
    This is how Aldi operates:
The truck collects the specials did not sell and still in great numbers (I call those 'flops') from each store during deliveries of new stuff. So the truck don't go back to warehouse completely empty, then they collect them at the depo and they would either ship them to another state that managers think would sell, or they would put a large number of them and kick those to a particular store and sell those at discount.

This is one of those operations to clear up crap :)

So expect 'gems' that didn't sell at original prices.
But unless you are the Aldi manager, u got no idea what is where.. :) so good luck getting 100 dollar 24in LCD-TVs like I did last time :)

  • Here fishy fishy fishy

  • Sounds great. Can't wait.

  • This already started at Macquarie centre. Only garbage though. Maybe they will put out more tomorrow..

I hope to find a few vegetable gardens if im lucky

Store manager told me there's lots more coming out.. some stores started putting some stuff out early because of the huge qty's of stuff they have to fit in with the new 'specials'

  • So any eyes inside Aldi this lunch, bargains to remark on?

  • All junk at my store. No vegetable gardens. Waste of time.

  • Anybody see any fridges in the sale, especially in Melb?
