      Also the 6 GB of RAM (really? really?) and slow HDD. Damn thing isn't even lightweight - it's 2.6 kg!

      I really don't see the bargain. My two-year-old laptop had same or better specs (apart from an older CPU and GPU, but similar category for its time), and was $900 at the time.

    It annoys me that a lot of good phones these days come with 1080p (whether that is necessary is another thing), and unless you're really really cheap, most TV's will be 1080p, but even spending $1000 on a laptop, you still won't get a 1080p screen. You have spend around $1500 on a laptop just to get it stock with a 1080p screen! Not everyone needs the best laptop GPU, CPU or 8GB ram etc, we just want to be able to use a laptop that doesn't have a crummy screen and not spend over $1.5 k

    I die a little inside every time I see a mid-high end laptop with a 5400 rpm hard drive.
    I die a little more when I see a screen resolution of less than 1080 on a screen size of 13.3" or higher.

    I get the need for these concessions on budget laptops…. but this isnt a budget laptop :/

      Thanks for the comparison link. If you have a look at their site, they actually charge shipping for this product where as we offer free shipping for the L50. So for those unable to pick up from an MSY shop, then our deal presents better value!

    Graphics card performance is similar to GTS450, HD8770M, 825M & GT730M. Will play less demanding games in 1080P, some games fluently at 1366 x 768, more demanding games on 1024 x 768 @30FPS, and some games not at all.

    I'm negging this purely on the Principle.

    Ozbargain is about sharing bargains; person to person. The fact that they let Reps on is also nice; but its not the place to build your email list to save $10 on shipping from MSY (which is in almost every state anyway).
