  • 1Gb of ram, non-upgradable. Not sure I like the sound of that. Am interested in what the battery life is as no claims are made.

CPU is a Intel Atom Processor Z3735G (according to review) as it is not mentioned on the site specs, and it's 1.3ghz and boosts to 1.8ghz.

Review seems somewhat one sided. Nice price though. The website does do money conversions and the total is $142 AU after discount.

    • It's probably not going to be crash hot on performance or battery life but boy do I want one just for it's novelty factor and it's price tag.

x86 operating system on a sub $150 tab is too good to pass up. It'll probably also make my Acer Aspire Zg5 N270 netbook look like a toy in comparison.

      • Wow, Intel Atom N270… I haven't heard that in a while!

      • The Acer W3-810 has been <$200 multiple times from Dick Smith.

      • I put my Asus N270 on gumtree and still got $100 for that a while ago.

        • You'd be surprised how many ppl have no tech knowledge & make a decision to buy based purely on aesthetics or form factor. Apparently netbooks have become collectors items now…

  • This one + console emulators beat PSP + console emulators easily!!

    • +1

      physical buttons > touch screen

      • +2

This my friend, is where this comes into the equation.

        • Wow never heard of this. Gotta do some more research. Thanks!

  • They look like fun, however there is no mention of Office 365, which may make a difference to some folk, making the Pendo 8" with a years support, Z3735, 1 TB of Onedrive and Microsoft support a better deal for them. This with WPS [ Kingsoft office] would be a fine storeroom folder/diary tho.

  • Sorry to revive this old post, but is this real win8.1? or the cut-down version? Can I use this as a laptop replacement? Thanks

    • Full windows - the RT' is needed for ARM processors, but Microsoft avoided the flack and negative publicity they would have got for putting the app store apps only' limited version on tablets when the full OS would work.

I've been tempted - Android DOSBOX clones only seem to be good for games up to 486 standard, but I reckon a baytrail should be good for DUKE Nukem 3D or Descent2 :-)

      • thanks mate :)
