MyNetFone Whirlpool Sale - ATA + Call Credit from $9.95

80

MyNetFone is giving Whirlpool users special deals on these ATAs (Analog Telephone Adapter) where you can plug one end to your broadband router, and the other end to your regular land phone, and then start making cheap VoIP calls! Similar to their Spring Sale posted last month.

  • NetComm V100 Voice Adapter - $9.95 including $10 call credit.
  • Billion BiPAC 6404VGP - $149 including $20 call credit.
  • MyNetFone MNFSPA2100 - $39.95 + $20 call credit.
  • Netgear TA612V - $19.95 + $20 call credit.

The devices are locked to MyNetFone's network, but their VoIP rate is pretty good (10c unlimited calls to Australia land line, 15c/min mobile, etc). Yeah. This is sent to me from Peter in Hobart again. Note that it is the last bargain I will post on someone else's behalf — please register your own account :)

    • Yeah. OzBargain owed a lot of good deals to other big online communities like Whirlpool.

  • Note that right at the bottom of the page, there is a condition of automatic top-up of account credit (to the initial amount) for the first 6 months. It's not a rip-off or anything, but I missed it when I signed up.

Um, I thought this deal is only for Whirlpool forum only… Would there be trouble re-posting it here…

    • Is that only if you don't top up yourself?
As I got myself this deal around 3 months ago I think and they never topped up automatically but I have done a few top ups myself anyway
By the way I have MNF,TPG and Pennytel and definately go with MNF for call quality "both local and overseas" but of course it is a little bit more expensive

  • So for example:

I order the Netgear for $20 with $20 included credit and go on the $0 whirlpool plan.

If I make no calls within 6 months this would cost me only $20. Then after 6 months I can use the $20 credit without incurring a charge.

If I do make 30 national calls ($.10 x 30) over the 6 month period, it would cost me $23 total. Then after 6 months I can use the $20 credit without incurring a charge.

If this is correct then I will definitely sign up for this.

Yes you can do that - I have two accounts - 1 which has just past the 6 months and I have only used for MNF to MNF calls which are free.

I can cancel the debit now and just use up the credits. The deal is good and I now use MNF for about 95% - ie rarely use my PSTN line - of my outbound calls. cancellation can be done online. Also MNF has neat voicemail to email feature, which helps you get your voicemails where ever you can get your emails.

I posted this offer 6 months ago, and updated it, but then it attracted little interest. While the whirlpool offer has been extended, the original post was so old any change to the expiry date would still leave it off the radar screen

  • I read that the automatic top-up works monthly, but does not top up for amount less than $2. And you need to call to cancel the automatic top-up after 6 months (if you wish to do so). You can't call if you have no credit in your account.

neil, I think you are right but it's probably best to read up on whirlpool and MNF's terms and conditions.

  • Peter from Hobart - you have sent a few good deals in - join up and share your wisdom and finds with us please!! It really is easy to do and we would welcome your participation. Barguy, Yousef, Jeffrey, kcyw, moo, myself and others could do with a bit more competition

  • I'd like to get the Netgear TA612V or similar but I don't want to have a separate phone for VOIP and PTSN. Surprised neither of those do both. Even my $30 Ebay Skype box switches in between PTSN and skype.

    • Neil - What you require is called "Fallback" - you can have this with MNF but not with the specials units above

They have some, this is the cheapest…

Netcomm V300 VoIP Phone Adaptor (locked).
VoIP Phone Adaptor + in-built Router.
One broadband phone line with fallback.
Plugs into any regular analogue/digital telephone handset to make broadband phone calls.
High speed internet sharing for up to three computers.
Programmed only to operate on the MyNetFone service.
      CREDIT INC.: $5.00 COST: $79.95

Skype and Voip are two different type of systems. Both use the internet to make and receive calls. One major difference is that with Skype you need your computer to be on, whereas VOIP can be serviced via a VOIP adapter and doesn't need the computer to be on. more info here
