AMEX OFFER: $20 Statement Credit for $100 Woolies Online Shop

1810

This popped up on my Amex card. Pls note its an AMEX issued card.
To those that get it, perhaps combine it with this 15% off Woolies offer
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162907

EDIT2 I can confirm that both codes and the AMEX $20 discount are stackable "FRIENDS" gets you 15% off and "SAVETEN14" gets you $10 off a purchase >$100 . As soon as I made my order using both codes, I received an email from AMEX- "Congratulations! You have completed all qualifying transactions on your registered Card ending in …."

Sub Total $179.98
Less Order Discount -$37.00
Delivery Fee $9.00
Less Delivery Fee Discount -$9.00
Total (Including GST) $142.98

PLUS $20 AMEX Credit..I just got $179.98 of shopping for $122.98 Saving: $57 + Free delivery!! As a bonus I was also targeted this week for double QANTAS points!

EDIT Can possibly be stacked this this offer also https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/163517

This is going on the assumption that 2 codes can be stacked online which has been the experience for me and others.

Will be intersting to see if you can get the $10 discount for spending greater than $100 "SAVETEN14"
and get the 15% discount for spending greater than $100 "FRIENDS"
and pay for it on your amex registered for the $20 credit for >$100 spend.

Big online weekend for Woolworths shoppers!!
Happy shopping ;)

So in essence to get the best value, spend $130 online, enter code "SAVETEN14" price becomes $120 after $10 discount, then enter code "FRIENDS" for 15% discount after 15% discount price becomes $102, then sit back and enjoy a $20 statement credit, so your $130 Woolies Online shop ends up costing you $82- Almost $50 savings to be had if all stacks and works together. Ill find out this weekend!

Why don't you get yourself an Amex QANTAS discovery card?? $0 annual fee and just have it to get all the offers? Happy to give u a referal link so we both score bonus QANTAS points !

      • Dude can you send me that referral link?

      • +1

and amex have no immediate intention of reintroducing the referral bonus.

      • +1

the Amex Discovery Card SOMETIMES gets the better offer.
This time round got it to my Plat Plus Card but not the Discovery card

  • Doesn't shown on my card

  • Ok I've got 5 off 30 using edr too. I should try online out. Is it free delivery anytime ?

    Great find op!

  • Any way to buy an Amaysim recharge online? That's what I had planned to use my 15% off for (in store), but I would love to use this $20 off too.

Well, worst case will be 15% off Amaysim in store and a separate online order to combine both offers.

    • Yeah, bummer online only. Could have done with $100 Opal top up for only $80.

  • Very nice indeed!

  • no offer showed on my amex card!!!

  • +1

    I've stopped receiving these offers.

The last one I got was H&R Block…

Maybe it's because I use this card too much?

  • As much as I hate Woolies (& Coles) a good offer…. Combine it with some of their better than half price specials and its nearly as good as the five finger discount (Not that I am encouraging that!)

    yahoooo..saved to card. Thanks OP.

  • great find op, just saved the offer to my qantas discovery card. not showing for the velocity though.

  • not showing on my velocity

  • In case somebody doesn't know: you get free delivery for first 3 orders: http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/NewToOurStore

Edit: Grr… No idea what to buy online. They don't sell MyBus ticket online :(

  • Thanks OP. Using my Qantas Discovery card

  • I wonder how they distribute these offers, does using your card or buying stuff from woolies enhance or decrease your chance of getting them…

    • These offers are designed to entice you to use your card. So naturally using it on your own accord will decrease the amount of offers. It pays to have more than one Amex card.

  • How can I check these offers with a bank issued card?
I used to have Qantas discovery card but cancelled it a while ago. I log in same online account on Amex website, try to register new bank issued Amex card but get error "We are unable to register your card"
    Thanks in advanced.

This is what I got for my no fee AMEX discovery card: WOOLWORTHS WELCOME OFFER - SHOPPING / Spend $50 or more, get $25 credit

    • ditto :)

    • +2

Now mentioned three times, including already in deal description

  • besides, any other codes still usable?

  • I got the $20 for $100 offer- which goes well with my Everyday Rewards offer of spend $40 get $10 back.

  • I am very confused with the various offers! Can someone please help.

    I get the following offers

AMEX spend $100, get $20 Credit

    Woolies "Family & Friend " spend $100 and get 15% off (Oct 3 -6 )

Woolies Every Day Reward offer - spend $50 get $10 off (Oct 2 - 8) In store only

Please help, my maths is not good. If I want to use all offers at once, how much should I spend in one order?

    • About $128 .. but I wouldn't bet on both codes working together.

      15% + $20 from Amex is a given though .

      • You are right. The Family & Friend voucher says not to be used with any other offer.

  • +1

    $117.65

  • I wonder if the Family & Friend offer can be combined with EDR offer - anyone knows?

  • Remember to register your card to see the full list
    https://global.americanexpress.com/myca/ocareg/japa/action?r…

  • I don't know whether this is a tip as such but it may be of use to someone:

Download the Amex app for the iPhone here:
    https://itunes.apple.com/au/app/amex-au/id418350340?mt=8

Input your Amex card details into the app

Whenever there is a deal, rather than wondering whether your card is eligible or not simply open the app and scroll down slightly - all deals show up here and you can 'save' them to your card

IMPORTANT - save EVERY offer. Why? For some weird reason it won't show up NEW deals until you save (and thereby 'clear') OLD deals. I didn't see some of the best deals recently because I didn't realize you had to do this.

    • You don't need to save every offer. Rather than scrolling down on the home screen of the app, press the button on the top right which slides the menu in, then choose "offers" to see all that are available.

    • +2

have they released an android version

      • No. Have asked for this long ago (via feedback to them) but thats a drop in the ocean

wondering if Beer Wine Spirits BWS included ?

    http://www2.woolworthsonline.com.au/Shop/Browse/beer-wine-sp…

    any idea, guys ?

  • I have Amex issue card. But I will like to know what it means to "Save the offer"

**** "Limited to first 5,000 Cards to save the Offer"

    How do I do that?

  • Sweeet! Dad got $30 off $150 spend

    • Whats the code

      • There's a code for the Amex offer?

        • was it AMEX or everyday reward offer re $30 off $150

        • It was the amex offer. It was $30 off $150 instead of the normal $20 off $100 everyone else got

  • anyone get this offer on their bank issued amex?

  • just looking at first online order ever at Woolies for this promo and amazed by the inflated online prices compared to normal instore prices.
eg online macro organic eggs 6 pack $5.36….local store $3.99
    SanPellegrino Water online $3.39…instore $3.09
    Example after example.
Cannot believe how people would be sucked in to these massive price differences.
Be very selective on what you purchase.

    • IanC…thats old news buddy. Most online prices are 7-9% higher than instore, but all catalogue specials ie: ALL HALF PRICE OFFERS are available online at the catalogue price

      • +1

        thanks mb.
as I said this is the first online order I contemplated and have learnt very quickly.
glad everybody is aware of the inflated prices.
        thanks again

  • +1

I think we should use the 15% off code First, then the $10 off code to maximised the discount. We will better off almost $2.
    $130 -> 130(1-15%)= 110.5 -> 110.5-10=100.5, rather than: $130 -> 130-10= 120 -> 120(1-15%)= 102

You get bigger discount if you use the % discount on the bigger amount.

  • thanks..
