  • This is a very good deal to visit Europe next year.

Not sure how much does a side trip to Hong Kong or Shanghai cost. Anyone has any idea? Cheers,

    • +1

HK or Shanghai are not in Southeast Asia. SE Asia countries: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar

  • Not bad for SIA.

  • +1

Note - 50% mile accrual if anyone cares.

    • 10% for the Super Deals fare.

  • +1 for a stopover in Singapore. Its a long flight and a short stopover will help reduce jetlag!

  • +3

Etihad has some comparable fares (without the bonus of the stopover): http://www.etihad.com/en-au/deals/promotions-main/

    • Abu Dhabi airport is nothing but a joke.

Good to see Etihad expanding but the airport is not!

    • I was going to comment about this too - the deal offered here is not one I'd take for myself, however I admit I've:
      a) been through Singapore many times, and although the airport is awesome I'm happy to give it a miss
      b) my main intent would be to travel beyond Frankfurt to Eastern Europe

If you intend to stop at one of the cities listed and like what Singapore has to offer, I guess it could be considered worthwhile.

    • thanks, good to know

  • And 30kg of checked in luggage included.

  • Flew SIA this year, was great service. Booked on their earlybird special last September.
Don't forget to use the transit vouchers - $20 buys a half decent meal on stopover :D

    • +2

the vegetarian indian place in terminal 2 is awesome beyond words. going to singapore again in October and will stop at terminal 2 when departing just for that restaurant.

  • +1

This is a good price, especially for SIA which is a top tier airline. When I was looking, prices were $1600 minimum and that was Air China..

Royal Brunei is also good, they fly their dream liner 787 from Melbourne. https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/162386

  • Think i'm going to use this. Anyone think Turkey is still currently safe enough to visit (got to try and avoid ANZAC day there as well - prices will be through the roof)

    • +1

I visited Turkey a little after the protests and everything seemed to be fine. The locals were discontent against the government but nothing was targeted towards us tourists / travellers.

      • Thanks Dasher, along with the protests and government unrest stuff. With ISIS stuff and people streaming over the border (I realise that Istanbul is a long way north) terrorism might be more of an issue too.

    • +1

It's safe. Generally people are kind and helpful to tourists there. Just avoid visiting cities close to Syria and Iraq especially Hatay, Kilis and Urfa for now.

  • Sorry to ask, but how do I do the $1 stopover, there weren't any instructions on anywhere.

    • It appears after you bought the ticket, in manage booking area. But it doesn't appear if short stay flights selected (2hrs-3hrs etc)

  • So for $1 you get one night in a hotel with transfers from/to airport and some tourist attractions?
Wonder what sort of hotel is included in the deal?

  • +1

I swear OZ Bargain is making me poor

  • I just bought tickets from Flight Centre. They've done price matching (actually beat by $1) and I also used my CBA points. Good deal.

    • This is a good deal and you can shop around to improve it - I found lower prices by doing the same search through Kayak. QANTAS also has early bird offers which are around the same ball park.

  • Does anyone know how quickly these generally sell out?
Also does "a few seats left" literally mean that, or is it more of a sales tact?

  • Maybe you should update the title to indicate that the $1 deal is Twin Share - I just saw that the stopover is $80 (instead of $1) unless you are travelling twin share

  • I would except that I can't due to character restrictions.

  • That's a good price for Milan. I booked my trip there earlier this year n it's costing way more.

  • Hello guys
how much for normal ticket without promotion cost?

    • I was looking for 2 adults, 2 kids in June to Europe. Tickets were $9800 for four. Now I got the same tickets for $6400.

  • It is a pretty good deal to get to ANZAC day next year. Because SIA fly to Istanbul from Singapore it doesn't seem to have the extra load attached for getting to Istanbul around ANZAC day next year.

  • Can't post bargains yet as I'm a noob…
I booked a flight to Europe yesterday for early 2015 with Etihad and paid $1,445.
They've got heaps of destinations for under or around $1,500 with each flight saying '4 seats available', so you better be quick before it's all gone!
I'm surprised no-one has posted this on OzB yet…
