Not sure if you're just trying to be funny… but you might want to read the rest of the sentence in context. :)
you might want to read the rest of the sentence in context.
"Our store might be closing, but we're still open 24/7…"
@jv: do you really think that is what it means or are you just trying to be a stirrer?
do you really think that is what it means
did you read my posts?
I'm merely reproducing what is in the link. I have not mentioned what I think it means…
@jv: then you are being a stirrer. Most 'reasonable' people would read it at its true meaning. Only a fool would insinuate otherwise. I will leave that to your interpretation also…
@kwidjibo: I guess you don't live near ANY store (of any* type) which has "closing down sale" signs up for over a year.
*typically candy
@Lukian: I completely understand that some stores have false closing down sales. My point here is that JV is trying to twist a common English term into something else. ie "The sky might be blue during the day but it gets dark at night"
@jv:
Harris Technology North Ryde is closing on Friday October 3rd.
blah blah blah…Our store might be closing, but we're still open 24/7.
TL:DR - jv = Stirrer :)
then you are being a stirrer.
kwidjibo, I think you are just trolling to try and get me to react.
how about just stick with commenting on the deal, and stop making personal remarks about Ozbargain members….
Perhaps you can list some of the bargains that you can see here from this deal, because I certainly can't find any…
My point here is that JV is trying to twist a common English term into something else.
I quoted the phrase as they have it written. How you interpret it is up to you…
This reminds me of the 'voice' heh Sadie.
@jv: You saying that I am trolling is the pot calling the kettle black. If you don't want me commenting on your stupid comments then stop making stupid comments. Try taking your own advice and keep it relevant to the bargains rather than trying to be a smart arse all the time.
I'm surprised they lasted this long, with Officeworks, JB Hifi etc
Harris Tech is owned by Officeworks (aka Wesfarmers)
Why is that? I thought they've been pretty good?
JV your profile picture is interesting who is this dude in the Pic?
me…
Can confirm. Jules Verne is JV.
ozsniper, if you buy one of my books, I'll sign it for you at the Ozbargain Xmas party…
Would you take a journey to the centre of the Earth jv? Or would you like to go visit a mysterious island? All within 80 days. And if that doesn't intrigue you we could spend 5 weeks in a balloon.
nothing worth seeing here people.. junk and more overpriced junk..
I could be wrong, but IIRC these guys have advertised several 'closing down' sales on OzB over the years???
that wouldn't surprise me…
Actually they haven't. They have had plenty of warehouse/car park sales and if you hung around to the end there where plenty of "deals" to be had.
I recall buying a box of Logitech Harmony remotes for $10 ea (ebay resale price $60, RRP $99), Telstra 3G USB Modems $5, RRP$200, eBay resale $90.
Good riddance. Sells everything at RRP and not even willing to negotiate.
ok sounds like no bargain…
du ma no bargain…
good place to hang out on lunch time
Making way for the new Masters store I guess - http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/newslocal/news/home-improveā¦
The only thing that remotely resembled a bargain at this place was the softdrink vending machine that had 600ml bottles of coke for $2
I bought the Dell U2311 and N40L for $200 each back in the day, so they weren't always bad…only 99% of the time. I remember buying yamaha speakers and a 250mb zip drive aswell… so I've been there 4 times in total lol.
Still kinda feel sad that they're going.
The only time I went there was when I had to get a high capacity USB key for work and had to be urgent and we just happened to be passing by. We were served by what was possibly the rudest floor team of any retail store I've ever been to. Suffice to say this is good news to me.
Only deal I see would be on laptop batteries for $10. I know Dell batteries contain Sanyo 18650s in them (my main source of 18650), which alone costs ~$7 ea. Not sure if other brands use sanyo aswell.
Closing down……. for the day.
yeah HT is pretty fail. surprised they've lasted this long.. i did pick up 32gb usb stick for $10.. but it's dead now anyway lmao
No idea if this is a good deal or not, I'm upvoting because I'm happy to see Harris Technology closing down!!! Thanks for bringing some good news to my day, OP!
