Notes

  • Up to 3 transactions per person.
  • Payment must be done through PayPal.
  • Discount can be applied to items sold by overseas sellers, as long as you checkout on eBay.com.au.

        Sorry for being blunt.

But people who usually use "I tip my fedora… yada yada bla bla" are usually asshats who call themselves part of "le reddit army". Typically comprising of of young fools who thinks they know everything and struggles to be cool. The very same people destroying what was a fantastic community and bringing bad publicity to reddit.

        Please… please leave ozb alone.

        Neg away.

We're being trolled, I guess, but just in case we're not:

"le reddit armie" is only used by youtubers mocking redditors for being nerds, not your fellow redditors.

      • +2

Then you will get 50c off everything site wide

    • +11

Don't let your excitement make you forget the 2% CashRewards cashback like I did last time :(

      • +2

Ebay (or Cash Rewards) has been trying to crib the 2% saying that items on promotion attract less rebate. I've bought stuff NOT during the sales and received the lesser amount. Luckily each time I just e-mail them and they manage to fix it, but I get the feeling something iffy is going on.

      • How do you get the additional 2% on top?

        • +12

Start your web browsing session from cashrrwards.com.au (with a CR account of course). Its based on cookies so really you want the smallest number of website visits between starting at CR and then making the purchase, therefore I find the best way to ensure this is to put a watch list on the item you want, close your browser, open new browser, go to CR, then go to my.ebay.com.au then buy from your watch list.

Last tip, setup your CR account now, not on the day

        • +1

@PBG: Thanks mate, greatly appreciate your response!

  • +2

    Gift cards time!

    • yeah .. so new idevice is coming can I pre order it maybe via JB and pay with gift cards for 15% off?
[chose JB because I have a few Coke rewards vouchers already with them]

    • +12

Shhhh. You would be amazed how many companies check here these days.

    • +8

Hopefully what has happenened the last few times doesn't get repeated where opportunistic sellers sell the Gift Cards above their face value.

    • +2

Make sure to use a credit card that doesn't recognise it as a cash advance.

    • +1

      In T & C

11 Gift cards/certificates/vouchers are excluded from this offer.

  • Oh here we go again!

  • +6

I bet prices will be 15%+

    • +17

      25% actually

      • +7

Actually I found that most sellers during the BBQ sale dropped their price to get more people in to buy. i.e. An item I was looking at a days previous was selling for $579 and during the %50 off sale the seller dropped the price to $499.

Look for items you want now and watch their price. That way you know if they have tried to scam you or not.

    • +2

The price of mobile phones at Kogan's ebay store has already gone up

  • +2

Gird your loins ladies and gentlemen

  • great!

    • +14

      If you're crying, don't.

    • +1

There are certain things better left unsaid - this is one of them.

  • +3

Bet eBay sellers will increase their prices by 15% just before the sale kicks in.

    • +48

But the sellers that keep their prices the same, will gain my money

    • +2

      I won't :P
Edit: I believe most of the small sellers won't either.

    • +8

If I had something on my watch list and the seller decided to up the price during promo, I would not buy from them. They should think of the 15% discount as something that encourages buyers to buy, not for sellers to up their prices.

    • +1

They will probably make more money if they keep the price the same since they will sell more. It would be rather stupid to increase price unless you are a small time opportunistic seller. Most major and establish store would most likely retain their price.

  • +1

    ITS HAPPENING!

  • +5

Ok. My jimmies have been rustled

    • -1

      Same here. Rustling intensifies

  • Apologies if this is a stupid question, but does that mean that I as a seller receive 15% less than my set prices? Or does eBay rebate the 15% to the buyer?

    • +11

AFAIK, ebay foots the bill for 15% - you get the same. That's what happened with the 50% off BBQ last Sunday.

      • Cheers

    • +5

      No. Ebay pays the difference.

      • +4

And still makes money on fees.

        • +3

^ that makes zero sense… or zero cents if ya know what I mean.

  • -1

Awesome. This will be the same as last time I assume, and you can buy anything world wide?

  • +3

So they are giving back the eBay/PP fees for 48 hours.
    Sellers still pay it.

  • -6

Can you sell your wisdom teeth on Ebay. I think it could be a growth industry.

  • +5

My LG G2, im ready to buy you now…

    • I'm now confused - LG G2 or OnePlus One?

      • I'm confused LG G2 or MI3 thought difference will be $100 between this two phones?

        • May I ask why you are not considering OnePlus One?
(I'm now looking for Pros and Cons again… can't decide)

        • G2.

Superior battery life above most phones. And also it's a standard interface, unlike the mi3s.

          Plus those bezels…

        • +2

          @Bappy:
Because its 5.5" which is way too big for me

        • -1

@cniminc: that's not what she said.

      • +2

I will recommend…definitely go with oneplus one.
I have been looking into oneplus one and i found it amazing and users are satisfied from their purchase as well.

      • Will the discount apply to phones listed by overseas sellers?
Does the "Item Location" has to be "on eBay Australia" or can be "Worldwide"?

    • What do people think of Hong Kong sellers for the G2?

  • +2

    now this is a deal!!!!

  • +1

Wonder if there is going to be a maximum discount limit like the last time

    • No need to wonder any longer

  • +8

That's awesome, but I'm running out of stuff to buy!

  • South Australians shop later into the night than any other state on average, while West Australians tend to prefer shopping before 7am

    • why is this? Any WA people want to hazard a guess? More bots operating in WA?
    • +1

      Random unreferenced stats are fun.
7am - what time zone EST? Maybe we shop late and slip into the 12am - 2am EST your time category "before 7am" [which in summer could be our 10PM - 12PM WST].

    • -1

most people in WA are bots these days and unable to think for themselves. Everyone basically gets up at 4am and everything basically gets ready to close at 12pm. By 4pm everything is shut - except major national companies - they bolt the doors instantly at 5pm. lol

Recently moved, but I used to live there for 25 years, thank god I don't anymore. lol

      • Obviously I don't agree, I barely get to sleep before 4am! :p

  • +2

Will it apply to auctions or only buy it now? Or perhaps only for eBay stores?

    • I am curious too as to whether this works for auctions.

  • +1

Here we go again :) Gifte Party?
