Is that a brand-name toolkit, sold elsewhere?

Otherwise, there is a common scam. They stock it at $99, knowing almost no-one will buy it. A couple of samples sit in the corner.
Then, after a time (as required by consumer laws) they advertise the BIG DISCOUNT. All legal and people are fooled.

ie $40 was the intended pice all along, based on say a $20 wholesale price. They just pad it for a bit to fool people.

    • Those tool kits I do see in their stores fairly regularly. But definitely with a lot less stock. These sales on those tool kits seem to happen around father's day each year and no other point in the year, but u can buy them there any time.

So I think you're probably right to an extent, but it is definitely a very good deal when they are on sale once a year.

They are basically the repco no name brand and aren't amazing quality, but they will get basic jobs done and for the money you really can't get as many tools in a convenient nice box like that.
Repco has the "repco" branded tools which aren't cheap but are very good quality and rumour is that they are made in the same factory as Sidchrome tools and they do seem to resemble them. Mechpro is their budget lower quality stuff, but depending on your needs, this can be adequate.

You really won't get the ability to do as many things for $40 anywhere else that I've seen.
