In all fairness I'm not sure the Note4 is a huge upgrade over the Note3.
I own the Note3 and owned the Note1 before it, I have this theory that Note's are only worth upgrading when skipping a generation. Bit like Intel's Tic/tok generations.
One thing the Note4 has is better build quality, and did it get the waterproof features from S5? But performance-wise, only mildly quicker it would seem.
I'm not trying to defend my Note3, I would have honestly upgraded if I thought it was worthwhile.
There's huge a difference in upgrading from a Note 3 to a Note 4 compared to buying already superseded hardware. I agree that it isn't worth upgrading from a Note 3, but you'd be stupid to buy a Note 3 right now when the Note 4 will be available soon for a comparable price.

Given Samsung's reluctance to correctly price old phones you are right for those who don't already own a note3.
The opposite should be true, note3 should drop to $250 bargain, but it doesn't and it won't. Good for resale values I guess, but back to the conundrum of my worth upgrading from 3 to 4. I'll stay put.
