Ashampoo Burning Studio 2009, usually $49.95 yours for free.

Burn audio or data discs quickly & easily with this full commercial application. Capable of burning Bluray.

I have moved from Nero to Ashampoo I find its a lot quicker and lighter on resources than Nero. Get the 2009 version for free, this is not the latest version but it seems to do all the same things as the newer one. The only nag I have encountered was the setup asked if I would like to pay for the newer version, the application itself doesn't have ads or anything.

  Awesome find, this program is a great competitor for Nero and it's (not yet) full of bloatware. I'm trying it out on Windows 7 as my aged version of Nero won't run on Windows 7.

  Doesn't work with windows 7 for some reason, it just locks looking for the DVD. Star Burn is the only free suite I've got working.

  AFAIK Windows 7 just has the same built in functionality as Vista, no good for authoring DVDs or decent control over burning options.

  AS FAR AS I KNOW - THIS IS NOT FREE - IT IS A 30 FREE TRIAL - just got an email from ashampoo offering it to me for $19.99 US. Absolute BS.

  spent the whole frigin day burning photos to dvd - and none of the discs finalized even though the box was ticked. boy am i ticked off.

  no idea how to finalize - can't see any option to finalize anywhere. wasted more than 1 day on this.
