Ok go ape on this one, I'm at the HP World Tour in Sydney and in an 'exciting' data presentation the presenter gave us a 'world exclusive' free code for 1 TB of free StoreVirtual VSA software.

NB: You have to enter a serial number but we were told it can be any 10 digit number so be creative !

  Don't think they will honour just anyone using this.

      Management Console ≠ StoreVirtual VSA

      You want these two instead.

      HP StoreVirtual VSA 2014 Installer for Microsoft Hyper-V (TA688-10524.exe)
      HP StoreVirtual VSA 2014 Installer for VMware vSphere (TA688-10525.exe)

      StoreVirtual VSA allows you to create fully featured shared storage on a VMware vSphere or Microsoft Hyper-V virtualized server.

  You need to enter a Proliant Server serial number so I think this is only applicable to some.

    If you read the description you'll notice he mentioned you can enter anything for it.

  Does it say what Proliant Server. If not my HP Proliant Microserver's serial number should be OK :P

    Any 10 digit serial number will do.
    It did work for me.

  Hahah you guys crack me up! FYI: this isn't cloud storage, hosting, or anything else like that..

  It's software designed to run on server hardware to turn it into a Virtual Storage Appliance (VSA). If you've already got something that this could be useful for, then it's pretty handy!

    So if I understand this correctly, HP are giving away a version of StoreVirtual VSA Software for free - to run on your own server - that's limited to 1TB?

  Massive Memory requirements for StoreVirtual VSA disks, 5GB for 1TB VSA.
