Hi, We have the official rainbow loom and some fakes in our family. The real one is much better…..well worth the money. Having said that we also use the cheaper bands as $2 for two bags of 300 bands makes more pocket money sense than $5 for 600 of the same colour.

agreed - there is definitely difference between quality of the looms.
If your kids are frequent users, a few more dollars will go a long way in this area

I bought 6000 loom bands for my kids. they immediately went "meh" and stopped looming.

Coles has the original on clearance for $10 (seen coles Brighton, southland, vic). As a mad looming household, would definitely recommend paying extra for the loom, but buy cheap bands.
