What do people think about the m8 deal?
I bought a oneplus one last night from t-dimension.
Even if I'd seen this first, probably still would have bought my one+, but would have had to think about it a lot more. The current flagship phones are about to start meeting the next in line, from next month right though the next 6months, so even though this might seem like a good price, I think we'll see it drop to around this price as standard shortly.
usually $888
Usually, as in RRP.
As I said, we will start to see it drop to ~ this price as standard shortly.
The phone is now around 6 months old, which is when flagship prices drop.If you want it now and are mindset on a local M8, then all means grab it, but even in the next few weeks there will be this price elsewhere.
I smashed the screen on my nexus 4.
Options:
- Replace the screen ~$70-$100. Volume rocker buttons are broken.
- Upgrade to a nexus 5 grey import ~$360
- Upgrade to a HTC One (m7) vodafone plan, $0 over 22 months on $30 plan. ~ $660
- Upgrade to a HTC One (m8) ~ $648
- Upgrade to an orange Nokia lumia 930 - $5 ;)
I WAS leaning toward the vodafone m7 because hell, im paying $30 a month anyway but it means another network change and Im not sure I cbf.
Sounds like you need a new phone now and have the htc design in mind.
Grey imports are under $600, but for local stock it's the cheapest right now. There is the s5 available for under $600 now too.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/156759@linton: That's a big drop though for them
@theworks: I have a nexus 5 its the best phone ive ever had and used extremely smooth and fast zero lag battery life easily last a day ive tested out htc's and s5's but there skins overtop android seems to make it lag ever so slightly.
also latest updates and android L soon enough.
or hell you can download developer preview right now for nexus 5
I havent bothered though.
but its an awesome phone.or if i get my lumia 930 ill sell it to you for $250 :P
I did like the nexus 4.
Do you know that u have to flash the phone into android ? And some phone can't flash the cyan !! If it go smooth , it great !!
To spend 400 or 500 over phone then have to flash , it not worth it for me.Just bought LG g3 ! Arrive today !! Great phone !! $610
I'm well aware it comes with colorOS and have researched my phone choice for the last few weeks.
I've been flashing phones to custom roms (including cyanogen) ever since my htc desire, so I'm well accustomed to it all.
Was $470 and will have it in my hands Monday, looking forward to having something different for a change. :)if you can make a phone better regaurdless of the amount of money s[pend would you not want to do it?
nexus 5 is near perfect yet i rooted unlocked bootloader all so i could install Xposed framework to get for immerse mode on all apps.
i like full screen realestate.
I wonder if the 2tb expansion drive is USB2 or USB3. I'm thinking the former judging by the price.
i bought my 2tb external hard drive for less and it's 3.0
Usb 3.0
States it in the description, but not the specs.
Wow, can't believe the ONE M8 & S5 are this cheap already, it's not even 6 months yet (April from memory). I converted after many years of iOS and actually miss it (except the battery life), this doesn't bode well for me selling the M8 for $600 to help go towards an iPhone 6 :/
From HN would this get updates from HTC or Telstra?
same as Optus, I know because I got an LG G2 from Harvey and it is also obvious because Harvey sells Optus contract phones too
The HN M7 i got was Optus.
Unsure who the supplier is for this one. Ask on Whirlpool maybe?
Well I got mine in store on the way home. Unlocked and unbranded AU stock.
Price match this at office works.
Yep that's because they changed their price after HN Dropped theirs
Great price for the aussie HTC one M8
Price matched at JBHIFI to use up a gift card. Telstra branded but unlocked.
Great phone. Amazing build quality.
Great price for current gen wolfenstein.
