It is working. I just tried. Give it another go and see. Priced dropped to 599
code worked ok for me
read the instruction, the coupon is valid for Blue and Gold colour only.
trying to get OW to price match!!!.. on hold … OMG!
I was just thinking that. I dont think they will. part of their price g'tee says
What items are excluded from the LPG?
- Non identical products and services (inclusive of non identical warranties)
- Package deals i.e. printer and computer bundles
- Cash back and coupon offers
- Resellers
- Customer special orders
- Contract Pricing
- Competitor clearance products
quansta is only on hold as OW employees are creating suspense. They probably went back to minesweeper and forgot about the call.
but they have the electric blue on their inventory.. so they should be able to match… (OW offer is worse as it is on-line only)
now they say they need to call me back… need to discuss with the manager!!!!..
no go.. would not match…!!!! wifey is not happy…
very dissappointed :-(
$600 back into pocket
Just called Officeworks at my local store and they don't price match with coupon. They said to call 1300 at their online store.
Just bought one from OW with pricematch and even the black color.
How did you do that? Which store?
EDIT: Called 1300 number, and a consultant specifically said they don't price match this particular online store.
I have priced matched through OW 1300 number using uniquemobiles before.
The problem you have is they have a list of known grey importer websites that uniquemobiles is on. You need to explain to them that you know they sell grey imports aswell but the item you want them to price match is clearly labeled as Australian stock and it is priced more then the grey version. The have a policy that they need to follow.
online, instore? which officeworks did you get this deal?
online..just called the 1300 number..sometime you ended up with the consultant who could do that without going thru all the checks..so I paid $570 for the black ..
Do you remember who you talk to as I have called again and a consultant called Matt says they do not price match.
@beall: Did not ask the name.. but it was female consultant.. She did not price match with the coupons but matched noworries.com.au (gray import) surprise to me…
Called them again and this consultant said that they don't price match as they both are grey imports….
@beall: I was lucky at that time..
I called 1300 to OW and girl said that they don't match with this site prices. Even I advised her that one of the customer gor it for $570 from OW. But she refused. Can you please send the recipt so i can price match with them?
Appreciate that.
Pardon me if I am asking too much as its my first comment on OZbargain.
Thanks.
In terms of the phone capability and features, wouldn't this the same as the one on Kogan $599? I assume Kogan is selling grey import Asian model which is SM-G900i <- someone please comment on this? If this is true, then you get to choose any colours you want, and if you signed up for Amex $50 cashback, then the phone will cost less than this offer.
I guess the different would be the warranty. Kogan offer it's own 1 year warranty, and Australian model offers 1+1 year warranty from Samsung Australia.
"I assume Kogan is selling grey import Asian model which is SM-G900i"
That is correct.
…which is the same model as Australian model. Just different warranty.
I don't get it? Why not just use Kogan?
Why does A-tick stock matter?
2 year g'tee vs kogans 1 yr.
Also 4G on Aus model.. Not sure if grey imports are all 4G
Some people have credit cards that double that warranty anyway. I don't think people should rush a purchase if they're worried about $200.
There are 4G LTE models on Kogan at $599. I think if the grey import is not the Asian model SM-G900i, then it will not work on the 4G 700MHz band which will be released next year. But there other 4G bands that will work, just missing the 700MHz.
Correct me if I am wrong.
I recently bought the 16GB S5 from Kogan's eBay store. It is SM-G900I.
U didn't think there were any phones that supported the bandwidth that is come in in next year?
Thought i read somewhere everyone would need new phones to support it?
Warranty. Even if your credit card adds years or doubles warranty, you still get longer warranty buying Australian stock.
Ease of return/repair. Most grey imports require you to send the item overseas at your own cost to return/repair the item in the warranty period.
Australian Consumer Law. The rights of the consumer that people take for granted are only on purchases made in Australia. You have less protection using grey importers.
Compatibility with Australian networks. Even though Kogan sell a 4G device with the correct frequency, there are many cases where the firmware can be Asian and not Australian. As such, you need to reflash the firmware to be able to use it on some Australian networks.
GST is able to be claimed back via TRS. Useful depending of cost differences and upcoming trips.
Proper Tax Invoice and GST for business/tax claiming purposes.
Supporting Australian businesses.
Do you enjoy forking out a few hundred dollars to receive a "new" premium smartphone with the box's seal broken?
I would prefer that and get a charger in the box i can use rather than get the wall plug for whatever standard the country of origin was?
is this 100% Australian stock meaning you will get an Australian Samsung Warranty and Tax Invoice?
According to their page, you get 24 months Samsung warranty and Unique mobiles do provide tax invoice which you can claim TRS if you going overseas.
Isn't there an S6 due next month that would drop the price on S5 and other older models ?
You mean iPhone 6?
No - I thought Samsung had a history of new releases each October
Edit: S6 Apparently due 03/2015
Current rumors indicate a Feb 2015 release.
The new Note 4 is out soon. The Note is the one that tends to have releases around October.
No but there is the Samsung Galaxy Alpha getting released!!!
http://www.news.com.au/technology/gadgets/samsung-galaxy-alp…
Don't think so, but the Galaxy Note 4 is rumored to be announced next month.
They just released an Alpha version of the S5, meant to have a premium feel to it even though the specs are slightly dumbed down:
http://www.samsung.com/uk/discover/mobile/meet-the-galaxy-al…
I premium feel over the current?
Somehow I don't think there was too much overtime spent figuring out how to do that. :)
If you can, wait till next year to get new phone for 64-bit CPU/OS—a major leap in terms of hardware/software.
I read that UM have sent out grey stock phones when it was supposed to be Aussie stock. So don't forget to check your firmware when you get it.
is this the same phone - $579 delivered from DWI ?
http://www.dwidigitalcameras.com.au/astore/Samsung-Galaxy-S5…
DWI is a grey importer. Additionally their 1 year warranty is a DWI warranty, not a Samsung warranty.
Very good price! Local stock for that price is excellent given the device's age…
Just called, OW would not price match as the code is not advertised anywhere on the website.
It's on their Facebook page though. Shouldn't that be enough? https://www.facebook.com/UniqueMobilesAU
I still think its a coupon which means they can reject the deal as part of their LPG policy.
Why do people constantly give their business to OW when other businesses are giving low prices. Won't continue if people keep supporting OW.
I wonder the same thing. Seems to be a bit of an obsession around here
Its because people want to save on postage, and avoid the wait. Id rather not deal with officeworks ever because I know they wiggle their way out of stuff all the time, but you have to wonder how a huge chain like them arent getting prices closer to the small retailers and when they say they dont go below their cost price, they are paying too much!
I guess one (perhaps unintentional) consequence of lots of people price matching from OW means that the stock levels from the original store would remain slightly higher for longer, giving latecomers a chance to snap up the deal.
So people getting from OW at a lower price win, OW getting a sale win, latecomers getting a deal they might of missed out on win and the small business getting a lot of exposure and sales wins.
Win-win-win-win?
At least that's my little optimistic view anyway.
price match at OW is 5% savings.
Will this work on telstra's new 700MHz 4G network?
since its aus stock, one can only assume that its the g900i model which will support 700(b28)
That's cheap for Australian stock.
How long will it take for it to be back in stock??
Just purchased for $470 from Office Works, the guy was confused and thought he was price matching at $500 rather than $600 once I receive the shipping confirmation I will post the order number for other users to use as reference to price match
i cant wait :)
many thanks :)
Typo of $470, shall be $570??
@glomas - any luck on the reference?
Mandy thanks :)
Hi guys, I have received the phone but still haven't an invoice with the order details or anything.
what's the difference between Asian SM-G900i and Australian SM-G900i?
Aaaargh.
I just received my grey stock S5 this week.
Paid around the same price, but is a much better deal. Aust Warranty and TRS.
Great price, just a week too late for me.
