it's a shame they didn't keep the 5% cashback for the first 6 months though

stackable with iconic $250 gift card?

    • +2

      details on that please!

    • -2

No, either $250 gift card or $75.

    • +3

The last time this offer was around I received both the $75 credit and the $250 Iconic Gift Voucher. I didn't even register for the Iconic deal as well.

    • I got both, and arrived sometime in July.

Anyone knows if the $75 needs to be declared as income in tax return?

      • -1

        Yes.

  • 2% cash back on Visa payWave purchases under $100 in Australia.

Do you have to deposit $1000 monthly to be eligible for this?

    Cheers

    • +1

Pretty sure you do. the 2% cashback along with the ATM rebate is dependant on the account holder depositing $1000+/monthly.

  • Q on Joint bank account … do we get 2x debit card - 1 for my self and another for partner?

    • Yes you do, from experience.

      • How about making 2 separate accounts
Claim 2 x $75 then ring them to make one joint account?

Just checked my account opened just before last $75 deal expired (late June). $1000 from my bank account 7/7. Miscellaneous Credit $75 75BONUS deposited 6/8 :-)

      • Give them a call, and you'll get your bonus on the day (if you did all other things to be eligible).

Happened to me and my mate.

        • well i've been messaging them via their message system.. they said everyone will be credited from aug 1 to 31.. if i still haven't been credited after the 31st then they said to contact to investigate.. the only thing i can think of is that i put my details on the form after i signed up

Anyone know if the "$1,000 from an external bank account" means non ING? Like would it work if I put $1000 into my brothers ING account and he puts $1000 into mine? What about depositing cash into the account from Aus Post?

  • Anyway of getting this again if also took advantage of the previous offer (the $75 with 5% offer)?

  • Similar to ANZ deal but you only get $75 and deposit $1000 less

    • There's no ANZ account that let's you use any ATM in Australia for free though? That was the main reason I moved to ING.

oranges are way better than apples

  • +1

    What happened to the 5%?

    • it became 2%

  • I bet ING is well aware of OZbargain now

they may could be use this promotion to investigate about people open and close account for bonus money

  • What are fees like for this account?

    • Never mind this account is awesome!

    It gets "better" (not):

A colleague - who is also an ING Direct customer - tells me he was contacted by phone…

    • for making multiple $200 withdrawals (each of which accrues a $0.50 bonus when using a bank machine in AU)

PS All this Rewards "giving & taking" and account blocking, by ING…

reminds me of a cartoon (seen & enjoyed in "The Big Book of Jewish Jokes" from a few decades ago):

    • In this cartoon, we see a man, dressed in a suit, but wearing a baseball glove on one hand; he is holding the gloved hand up, as if trying to catch a baseball… Behind him is a sign (just below the attendees' seating area), which says: "Hit this sign, & Abe Schwarz will give you a brand, new suit… absolutely FREE!"

    ;-)

I see that many if not all debate about ING's calling customers by phone about their use of Rewards offers, etc. have DISAPPEARED.

I presume OzB has been pressured by ING Direct to do this, & I am GLAD TO HAVE -SAVED- copies of the Full Set of Comments, eg, for future review. :-)

  • I took an offer like this from IngDirect in March, got paid and closed account in June.

It seems like they've done special "for new customers" deals a few times now. Anyone know from past experience whether having closed a IngDirect account in the past means you can still count as a 'new' customer for promotions?

  • Joint account(the two already got account) also has $75 or not?

  • Is it 1000 altogether or at once

  • so does it have to be SALARY?
ie, when my salary is deposited, it states that. Can I just make a transfer of $1000?

I only ask as everything on the process and following confirmation email states:

Deposit your Salary (at least $1000/month) into your new Orange Everyday by 31 August 2014

    Thanks.

Also, I registered my details on the free $75 page, then went to the iconic promo page and entered the promo code and started my application from there. That should cover me for both promotions?

EDIT - Finally, when they say ALL ATM's, does that include cahpoint machines in clubs and pubs (the ones over the counter)?

    • +1

Can I just make a transfer of $1000?

=> Yes, you can. It need be a salary.

That should cover me for both promotions?
=> That's what I think. We will come to know after sometime. :)

Finally, when they say ALL ATM's, does that include cahpoint machines in clubs and pubs (the ones over the counter)?

      =>Yup, all ATM no exceptions.

  • Deposit $1000 per month from my external account is fine by me - but can I transfer out after 2 or 3 days later? and just maintain about $500 in the account?

    • sure. no where in the fine print does it says the money has to sit there for X days.
