  • I found this link and they list RRP as $229 for the 6 in 1 model. So not sure how good deal is. Also, reviews aren't that good.

Meh - they regularly sell for $150 - $200 dollars on eBay. Check out the previous sales here. The $629 list price is bogus.

Plus I have a similar MTM pack and the chainsaw chain regularly flies off when I'm using it (very dangerous) and the trimmer blades went dull quickly. The hedge trimmer is the only thing I could recommend.

That shouldn't happen unless you don't adjust the chain tension…

Agree 100%. I adjust the tension before each use and if I do a few medium sized branches it will loosen up enough for the chain to come off. The quality is poor, no doubt about it. If I use my brother's Stihl (apples/oranges) it's a dream compared to the MTM.

        • It's normal for the chain to stretch after the first few cuts but if it's losing tension after every few, I would just stop using the saw. The aftermath of flying chains is not pretty.

Edit: I regularly use an MS460 and MS360, and while they're definitely not comparable in terms of price/quality, they're absolutely bulletproof provided that they're maintained well.

My mate bought it, unfortunately this machine is no good at all as it didn't last at long. He got the refund from them after threatening them to ACCC.

Beware about agrmachinery, they are really dodgy.

I bought a similar kit from them late last year, and it had a faulty motor.

During many, many, many email exchanges. They were polite, and asked me to try this, and try that. Send them a video and pictures of how the product was faulty… Did all that. Each time there was 3-4 days delay before responding. It was obvious to me, they were trying to stretch out past the 45 day paypal policy.

On day 44, I lodged a dispute. They asked be to send it back for a refund. A truck came and picked it up and gave me a pickup receipt. After about 2 weeks, still no refund. They emailed me back saying they haven't received the items. I contacted Paypal again and paypal refunded my money in a few days…

Never ever buy anything from agrmachinery again…

    Also, $224.95 is a price increase, not a discount…

    it's been selling between $199-$219 since May…

    It is an anti-bargain !!!

Thanks for all the info guys. I'm in the market for a whipper snipper and will be avoiding this one.

Get one of these when they have a sale…

      • I second jv's recommendation. My FS38 is going strong 8 years on and has never missed a beat.

      • Yeah I was looking at stihl! Will keep a look out.
