Been looking to buy a motorbike just came across this page. Looks to be reasonable prices for entry level bikes.

FYI I paid $7,600 for a Hyosung GT250R back in 2006 Bikbiz Sydney NSW
Bikes greats, they are "full sized" frames so taller riders don't feel like their sitting on a small kids bike all cramped up and legs twisted up like other 250cc options out there
Engine sounds great.. no tingy little 125cc sound!
Great all around bike worth considering.
Korean + warrantyAt this price it is a Bargain !!!
Well, I think its a bargain from my limited knowledge of motorbikes but maybe its not a bargain to others. By the way whats your definition of bargain?
By the way whats your definition of bargain?
At least do your research JV.
https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/57335I did.
Exchange rate was better last year…
Hyosungs are always cheap because nobody wants them.
Brand snobbery is the only reason!! .. Hyosung is a Korean company that started out making engine manifolds, pistons and allot of other parts for companies like Honda … they became so large they branched off and started making the whole bikes themselves. They have improved over the years and now make a very solid reliable product.
Nothing like the crap motorbikes coming out of China..
Does anybody in the Grand Prix ride a Hyosung?
Hyosung dont make high end motorbikes.. only low end consumer products
Eh.. just remember these things have freaking terrible resale values. Rather look at a gently used Honda or Ninja 250 and sell it for nearly what you paid when off your Ls.
The Hyosung GT250, GT250R and GT650RL are a full sized bike made for adults and you would be happy to keep it after your off your L's for a while longer… The Honda or Ninja 250cc bikes are SMALL, squished made for kids that cramp your leg on long rides and are a pain in the ares literally
No wonder people coming off their L's want to upgrade so badly .. the Brand name 250cc bikes are made to be crap and uncomfortable on long rides for this very reason so you do upgrade.
Hyosung haven't gone this rout and provide a full sized bike for Lerners and long time riders
provide a full sized bike for Lerners
Who is Lerners ?
Learner opps
Exactly. Bought my first bike, a black on black Honda VTR 250 for $6000, sold for that price 18 months later. Same goes for my current ride, a 2005 Honda CB900F Hornet (red - goes faster), bought for $5750, will sell 2 years later for $5k+.
When it comes to bikes, brand is a key factor in most prospective purchaser's minds.
They don't have the same credibility or resale value as other bikes. That's why they're cheap.
Even if you think they're good value, half the buying population is against them, so you've already limited your potential resale audience.
However they are about 1/2 the price of "other bikes" https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/152474
As a learner you want a cheap bike. Go for a second hand one if you can - but failing that, these are cheap and you won't be wanting to die when you drop it.
(first bike: hyosung gv650. current bike kawasaki z750 | both 2nd hand)
Which is why you invest in oggy knobs.
Had no problem selling my bike for $5,000 within a few weeks in Sydney 17 months after purchase for $7,600 in 2007
Mind you the new sales price had dropped to $6,990 and if you take off rego and ctp then its not much of a loss at all :)
Advice with selling bikes … ALWAYS sell during SUMMER!!! you will get 15-20% more for your bike then if your selling during winter along with more buyers interested then when its raining and cold during winter
Tempting… But I don't want to die.
got hit twice and fell broke allot of bones.. your 95% more likely to get hurt..5% death
Riding a push bike and horse is also dangerous
I had a hyo Gt250r. Good bike. The 650 would be great.
Which colour bike goes the fastest - white, black or red?
red is always faster
Ex girlfriend had one (GT250R 2008 model).
Terrible underpowered bike. Very poor brakes. Dim headlight. As mentioned it is a full sized bike. Looks ok. Sounds good. But compared to Jap bikes, quality just isn't there. May have improved over the years, but I would stick to a better second hand brand.
But are they bargains ???
