What are the resolutions of the cameras?

    • +1

      Camera res is 640x 480
      Monitor res is 800 x 480

But there are more important specs than just the resolution, like quality of focus and operating in dim light. I am not an expert so I wont comment.

        RANT WARNING!

I cant believe cameras these days are still only shitty resolutions like 640x480 or 800x480. They should all be 1080p (720p minimum) now. I know it takes up a bit more space, but with better compression and codecs like x264 and affordable large capacity HDDs it's really a non-issue.

There's nothing worse than recording a crime (or other incident) and finding it's of absolutely no use because you cant see definition or distinguish features (such as a suspect's face).

The CCTV recordings of suspects/crimes you see on the news are a joke, because they're so low-res they are practically useless!

        • Agreed.

  • Can anyone comment on how these wireless cameras are powered? Im assuming they will each need their own individual power GPO at the installed end unlike the Coax cabling with data and power for non wireless setups?

I bought this set on a markdown table last month for slightly more than this price.

Yes, they require power which I found a bit tricky as I want them for outdoor surveillance. Making the internet / mobile surveillance work requires the tablet to be connected to a Windows computer running some Uniden software. Not as seamless as the D-link type cameras.

Resolution could be better but I can't fault it at this price.
