That was a special price running for 2 days only (24/06 - 26/06). $449 is the normal price.

Just because you didn't get to stack 2 deals is no reason to get sour.

        • Google cache from the 27/06 shows $449 also, which is in line with kamoi's comment.
          http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:RQkZRom…
Deal doesn't deserve a neg just because you missed out when it was cheaper!

        • "Special Price" while it is MSY and Umart's regular price. Any proof that this was a special price for just those two days?

        • +1

Have you any proof that it wasn't?

You might also have noticed the last couple of months, DS are running sales almost everyday - isn't that likely to change prices on various things almost constantly?

You have no proof other than your own memory, correct? Yet you are asking other to prove something to you?

Why don't you cut out the middle man and phone Dick Smith and enquire about the item (and the recent price fluctuations)?

    • +3

Complain to eBay about specific price jacking, and suggest they force sellers to lock in prices 48 hour prior for future sales like this.

I would also point out that it boils down to the seller stealing/hijacking the discount from eBay.

The more examples posted here the better. IF an eBay rep sees the volume of examples it may cause them to have stricter guidelines for sellers in future.

    • Quite pathetic on DSE's part seeing as it is eBay who is footing the discount and not them.

I agree with you about DSE. They have a habit of upping prices, and even pulling listings, when there are discounts etc.

However, it may not be just eBay/PayPal "footing the discount" this time. There may be some type of split? 10% each or 5% the store and 15% eBay/PayPal ?

    • -1

Pathetic that you can't be bothered noting that this like most sales was for a limited time and it ended prior to this sale.

  • +1

Seems reasonable for a Dyson DC44 stick 448 down to $368 shipped

$448 is same as in-store so perhaps genuine saving?

Current cheapest store price is $398 at binglee

Cheapest ever seems to be $350 noted on here somewhere

    • I bought it. Better runtimes according to Dyson's current brochure which I can't find anywhere online.

      DC44 Animal - Motorised Heads/MAX runtimes - 20min/8min
      DC59 Animal - Motorised Heads/MAX runtimes - 17min/6min

Also they both use the SAME battery. DC35 uses a weaker Li-Ion battery.

NO WHERE does Dyson AU quote "26 minute runtime" as per reviews on various websites. I suspect this is if you kept using the vacuum "on and off" by not holding the button in. Either this or its quoted as the motorised head on the DC59 is 26cm wide compared to the DC35/44 which is 22cm wide. So I guess you can clean "faster" with the wider head.

      • I used the oldies DC35 for 3 weeks and if I'm quick can get my hard floor 3br, 2 lounge house done in 1 charge so figure the DC44 should even better with slightly longer run times.

  • bought a s5 from kogan for $564, amazing price.

  • Looking at a vacuum too … lots of people write about the Dyson here (I know they look cool). Looking at some review pages I found mainly positive reviews about the Miele vacuums … http://www.productreview.com.au/p/miele-s-8-series.html Are we all falling for the Dyson marketing? The Miele looks cheaper and better to me …

This one comes at $360 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Miele-09779710-S8-Pure-Air-Sprint… after discount …

Or this one at $455 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Miele-09165840-S8320-Classic-Cat-…

Just can decide which one to get …

    • +1

      Miele products are good.

If you have pets which shed hair inside, then the more expensive until will clean carpets better.

If not, then the cheaper device with the standard attachment will be fine.

    • I've never owned a Miele but I've got a Dyson DC23 and a DC59 (Vacuum and Stick dust buster style one) and I love them, never had an issue with them and they clean really well. No maintenance and no issues.

My parents have had Dyson's for ages I'd guess 10-15 years and had 3 different models and they've only upgraded because they like to have the latest tech, great quality and none of them have broken down.

I'm not knocking Miele, they might do just as well for less cost. Just letting you know that Dyson are as good as the hype suggests.

    • +1

I've got the older model Miele Cat & Dog (S5261), and I've loved it. Great rotary head for getting hair and other stuff out of carpet, and very powerful for it's size.

I'm actually looking at downgrading to a stick one, so perhaps I'll message you to discuss further, see if I can help you out :)

    • My friend had a Dyson and she hated it. I bought her a Miele and she said it's much better than the Dyson, it's stronger, quieter, easier to empty, etc.

I've had my old Miele Cat & Dog for about 10 years and never had a problem. There's another good Miele one on sale for $348 on Bing Lee website, it has a turbo brush like the Cat and Dog but smaller in capacity but has a hard floor head as well.
      http://www.binglee.com.au/miele-s-6230-ultimate-compact-vacu…

      • +1

Not getting defensive here but could you elaborate on why she hated it and what model it was?

Was it a base model that wasn't powerful enough? The one that I have was their highest model at the time with a motor head and I've never thought that it wasn't powerful enough or had troubles with it.

        • +2

I think she had one of the earliest models. She said it was a pain to clean the dust bin and she didn't feel it was sucking up much dirt. I'm sure the newer Dysons would have been improved after a few generations. I personally never owned a Dyson but tried it in some stores, I would probably go for their hand held ones for quick pick up but would still stick with my bagged Miele, just personal preference.

  • +1

Got a Nexus 5 32GB (black) for $384.80 from Kogan. $90 cheaper than from google but a 3 week wait.

Wouldn't have minded saving $45 and getting the 16gb, but only had that in white.

    • -7

      s5 for $384 ??

      is that a typo?

      • Pretty good price. Nexus 5 or Lg g2?

Sucks because I always want the newest models but I cant justify paying the premium when in 6 months time the price will drop by quite a bit.

      • Nexus 5 mate

  • Don't suppose anyone knows if Dick Smith have instore pickup for ebay purchases like the good guys?

    • Probably not as Dick Smith online orders probably come from the one warehouse. Unlike TGG which come from stores with stock.

  • +3

    Thanks OP!
Bought Breville Smart Oven for only $199.20! RRP is $299 and current Myer promo price is $254.15!
Like some of the others, I got the confirmation email 30 mins after ordering and called them up. They were happy to let me pick it up from store.

    • +1

it is a good oven i bought it last time with the 30% off GG voucher on ebay.

  • +13

Just bought a Brother MFC-J6920DW Wireless A3 Multifunction Printer! (http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Brother-MFC-J6920DW-MFC-J6920DW-W…)

$319 down to $259.2 (inclusive of postage).

Also, Brother has a cash back promotion running at the moment from 1 May 2014 to 31 July 2014 where if you purchase a printer in between that time, you get a certain cash back amount depending on the model you buy. The printer I bought's the top inkjet model and is listed with a $100 cash back amount (https://brother-money.com.au/).

So all in all, $159.2 for a $319 printer.

    Pretty happy!

    • Good find re. the cash back. Put on a CISS and it should last for years.

    • so much temptation

  • This thread is becoming epic…so much for a day of rest! Well played eBay

  • +5

Very tempting deal but unethical conduct by ebay sellers.

After browsing one hour I have decided not buy and save myself money for something which I don't need urgently!

    • +1

"After browsing one hour I have decided not buy and save myself money for something which I don't need urgently!"

Save yourself money for non-urgent needs?

This OZB, nirvana for impulse buyers! :)

      • +3

I have 3 years old HP laptop and I wanted to upgrade it as part of this deal.

I was interested to purchased Dell laptop i7 with 1TB and 8GB Ram but the seller raised price by $50 just before 10am.

I am not going to support this unethical conduct where seller is ripping off consumers. I am sure I can live with my current laptop for few more months and use the saved money probably for next Sunday deal (if something is coming up) :)

        • Must have been a very cheap laptop if the 20% discount didn't more than compensate for the $50 rise. I'm not sure how giving consumers a lower price is "ripping off" but happy to hear your logic. Sure it would be nice to get a discount on top of a discount but the reality is that when that applies you're getting a super bargain. If you look at the fine print on many discount offers they will say "no further discounts apply" or "applies to full price items only". Sounds reasonable to me, but as a canny consumer if you don't like the deal look elsewhere or keep your dosh in your pocket as you've done.

  • +1

Thanks OP, just bought an Iphone 5S and Iphone 5C from Kogan!

  • +2

LG 42 100hz 3D Smart TV (price hasn't risen since earlier this week) $847 then take off the 20% discount
    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141258858291

    • +1

If you don't need 3D and 100hz, here's a 42inch LG TV for $698 before 20% discount from The Good Guys.
      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/141257329740

      • I went a looked at the shop I would go for the 100hz model personally.

The 100hz also a IPS panel which is nice.

  • spent all day comparing these two phones:

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Samsung-Galaxy-S5-4G-LTE-SM-G…

    &

    http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-HTC-One-M8-4G-LTE-16GB-Grey-U…

Both are great phones, HTC looks heaps better but Samsung is lighter & slightly better battery life.

I went with S5 but it was a toss of the coin, as I already had an HTC phone & wanted to try out Samsung

    • +3

You should be happy with the S5. I have had both (I was very indecisive). Sold the M8 and stuck with the S5 (rooted with TowelRoot, removed crap I don't need - KNOX is not tripped). What made the final decision for me was the screen, camera, removable battery and option for wireless charging. Also, the M8 was very slippery in the hand (dent easy) and the proportions just didn't feel right for me. :)

    • +1

Samsung is lighter because it's plastic. I've had a few Samsung phones & tablets & they all feel cheap compared to my current HTC One M7. Can't go wrong with either, but HTC build quality is superior.

  • I purchased a Microwave oven SHARP R395YS - price was $249 but with Discount and Delivery, it came to $206.92. I have received receipts from Paypal, Order confirmation from Ebay . Now I got the confirmation from The Good Guys - which shows $249 and Blanks in the space of Warranty and Service. Hope it turns out okay.
    Thanks OP .

  • Went to pick up Kogans GoPro rip off camera. Listed as $149 on their website (inc shipping), on their Ebay store it's $157 + $9.95 shipping. A bit disappointing :(

    • If you read some of the reviews of it you might not be saving anything if you buy it. Quite a few problems with them.

    • Might want to check out one of these instead :)

      http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/261456346005?ssPageName=STRK:MEWA…

    • So which was cheaper? $149 delivered or $166.95*0.8 delivered?

      • Guess the negger couldn't work it out for himself?

  • Bought ASUS 11.6" TX201LA-CQ004H Touch Ultrabook for $719! seems like a good deal

    • +2

11.6" is a bit small though. 13inch is good for a portable laptop.

    • I'm looking at the same laptop. Seems a good deal, all other places are selling way over $1K. Only down side, this is quite heavy for a 11"(1.7Kg) and battery is not that great.

      • So the only downsides are basically the two most important features of an ultraportable? Hmmm…

  • Nice, just ordered a new Dishwasher http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=141257…
    $799 at Bing Lee
    $629 at TGG
    $495 TGG with Ebay special
    …winning

For a dishwasher under $800 it rates quite well in Choice's latest dishwasher review.

    • +1

postage for me is $378 !

      • +1

Where the heck do you live!?

  • +1

Anyone help me out - looking for external blu-ray burners from either DSE or TGG but can't find anything at either site. Possible search error my end!

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=321328…

Mainly for browsing, word, movies and v.occasional gaming. Can't really pay anymore than this…

    • First model $50 cheaper just before start of deal :)

      • Really? Ok, I feel dirty for considering it now..

May just have to postpone my laptop purchase til a better deal comes around

        • +1

Second model is $599.20, you probably won't find a better laptop at this price range for what you would use it for.

        • +3

Haha wow I caved.. so far got:

          2nd laptop $599.20
          toshiba 2tb hdd $99
          ipad mini $200

eek, I'm going to go lie down.

        • Haha, well played sir!

        • Wouldn't the i7 with a better video card be better for an extra $80?

  • Any good IPS Monitors? Similar to the Dell P2714H that's sold out now?

    • Looks like a lot of stuff that were there this morning are now gone.

  • +2

needed or not, but bought … !!!!

    http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=111327…

Saved around $18. Dont want to start searching more, I am sure, will end up in buying more. I need to know when to apply the brake on, else spending spree just because there is a bargain !!!!!

For those who are looking for buying something required and have been searching, this is a great opportunity. Thanks OP :)

  • Just bought a laptop, the toshiba one! does anyone know how the vouchers work? ebay said I Paid $480, but paypal just took the full amount.. does eBay refund it? voucher seemed to work, order form says $480… didn't really have a spare $600 for a laptop… hahaha.

    • +2

Go into Details of the transaction in Paypal. Scroll down and look for funding source. It should show eBay's 20% contribution.

      • Yep, sorted! Thanks heaps Scott!!

  • Bought 2 items from GG and saved plenty.

    • It's good, thanks to its full HD screen. But I still think it's expensive.

If it was the i7 version with 8GB RAM and the 256GB SSD, I would have bounced on it.

      • from the article it said ~3 hr battery life…

        • yeh that is the only thing that is holding me back from buying it.

Can't find any other ultrabooks that I like.

        • macbook airs were going for around $830 earlier in the week. I would probably take that over similarly priced laptops.

        • Cheapest on the mac I could get was $922 from dicksmith using the 5% extra off. And if I was to get a MAC id dual boot it to Windows which then means ill only have 60gb left of ssd space lol.

Resolutions on the MBA was pretty low.

  • +4

Sony xperia z2 for $548 after discount. Pretty good price?

    • cheapest I have seen.

    • Would you be so kind to provide a link? :)
      Edit: Is this from Kogan..?

  • Just bought a Brother MFC-J6920DW (about $255 after discount) from the Good Guys eBay store. I should be able to get another $100 cash-back from Brother directly by presenting the Good Guys invoice. Awesome and thanks OP!

    • Canon has a "similar" offer on selected printers(at least one of which Canon mg7160 is available at both DSE and TGG ebay) if anyone's interested. Their cash back is via a lottery system - random selected amounts from $10-$200 iirc.

  • Bought the Google Nexus 5 Black 32g with the Qi Charger for $400.80. Happy to wait for the delivery. Now for a good cover. :)

  • i used the code for one transaction earlier, and assumed i could use it again, as the rules state up to five separate transactions. i'm not that fussed, but was i only able to input the code once?

    • +1

      5 times

      • thanks. it was also confirmed via ebay live chat.
