  • wow good price.

    • Very good price, I sell similar units at work (Toshiba 9" DVD that is) for about $279 but I'm not sure if it's the same model. Resolution is fairly poor but an absolute bargain for the price.

  • only 2 left in NSW i just bought one

    • HI..could you please confirm it is including carry bag/ headrest mount? thanks.

      • yes it does :)

        • with the headrest mount, is the device can fold into one piece back to back (front side is lcd screen, back side is the button)? or cannot fold so the screen on the top and the button on the bottom part (standing)? pls let me know. thanks.

          • @surat: go to a store and find out or go to the toshiba website just a google away

  • Great deal, pity not available for delivery :-(

  • Sweet, just picked the last on in VIC. No more having to pay $15 to Jetstar for their entertainment units.

  • We really do like to collect 'stuff'. Like having an electric juicer, electric can opener, etc etc all on the kitchen benchtop, when a $1 juicer or can opener is just as good.

Isn't a laptop just as good, and instead with the $99 get an additional laptop battery. Bet you are all going to take the laptop with you anyway.

    • Of course a laptop is just as good. a HTPC is just as good as any media player or DVD but we don't see those in every household. A standalone DVD/DIVX player is still going to be more convenient to use especially for the older generation (i.e, if I wanted to lend to my parents).

    • laptop battery that lasts more than 5 hours playing movies for $99 now i'd like to see that :)

seriously i would, anyone know of one ?

      • I bought a portable lithium battery that powers dvd players.
gives them another 2 hours on top of their standard battery, it's universal plugs into the 12v jack.
actually its a bit useless now, we used it when we went overseas.
if anyone wants to buy it… ;)

    • I remember lol'ing the first time I saw "digital photo frames". Portable dvd players rank right up there with them I reckon.

We always find use for something if we try hard enough. We can also make do perfectly without some of these gadgets. I can't think of a situation where a laptop and a good book can't do exactly the same thing as one of these. I don't see my parents as the type to go crazy over being able to watch DVD's on the move. These make nice impulse buys, nothing more IMHO.

Oh I posted about a T400 Thinkpad that can be had for ~$830 delivered, haven't got mine yet but according to a review it gets 9 hours on the battery alone..

  • Called them up and reserved one yesterday afternoon and picked it up today. It looks classy and feels solid compares to most other players. Not bad for $99 at all…

  • My confirmed order got cancelled. Hmmm.

    • Same :(

      • same

  • All sold out :(
