  Just remember in Victoria (not sure on other states) it is illegal to have more than 25KG in a roof box/rack, which includes the rack weight it self. They have been clamping down on it a lot lately and big giving out fines, must have something to do with all those dash cam videos pooping up.

  Seems misleading companies saying 50kg+ which is illegal, and im sure if you were in a crash the insurance company would find anyway to void it.

    Can you provide a source to this information please? I haven't heard of these laws before.

    As far as I know, you can put as much in a roof box as your vehicle's roof allows you to. Eg. Load rating might be 75kg for your car so after the weight of the box and the roof racks, that's how much you can put in.

      Just heading off to work, it is hidden on the vicroads website. Pretty sure it is listed in the p plate book too.

      Only reason I know about it as I got booked for 44kg on racks at ea$ter time, $125 fine… was for rack overloading apparently. My hand book says limit of 50kg. Go figure lol.

        How did they fine you? Weigh the roofbox? Unload and weigh everything separately?
        I've searched the vic roads website and the current 'Guide for Learners', "Road to Solo Driving" and "Driving in Vic - Rules and Responsibilities" handbooks and can't find anything.

  Went to aldi site who said the roof rack box is a run out only specific stores have them if they had leftovers after Pecos sale. No way of finding out who had them as toy can't call sous individually. Any help here?
