The account is free, you can use any software you have registed on your iLok account without buying anything, if you are wanting to use your software somewhere other than home/the system you installed it on, then you would need to buy the iLok dongle.

I was surfing facebook, and saw a post from one of my lecturers (I'm an Audio Engineering student) posted about this freebie i checked it out entered my details, activated, and downloaded it and it works like a charm.

As a promotion for Eventide's new plug-in they're giving it away for free for a limited time.

      An iLok account or InterLok account is an anti piracy method used by some software developers to manage their products CD/licence keys. These product keys can be valadated for a single computer or valadated for an iLok USB dongle which enables a licensed user of a software application to use the software on different computers without having to acquire an authorization for each individual computer.

      Probably need an account from ilok.com I guess. You can create one for free.

    Just to clarify. Ilok is a hardware dongle and will run you maybe $30-50ish.

    As far as I know, you're not getting anywhere without dropping the money on the key.

    So if you have to ask, it's not free.

      You don't have to buy the dongle to use iLok, they have a licence manager program which you can use to register the plug-in to your computer with out using the dongle at all. the dongle just makes everything portiable if your going to use your programs on someone elses system.

    Confirmed no dongle required, just the ilok app installed and you can use it.
    Nice plugin, 30 instances of it barely moved my cpu meter.
    Can drag and drop routing too!
    Very nice freebie!!
