According to Camelx3 this is the lowest it has ever dropped to, even cheaper than the previous deal back in April. Possibly cheaper if you use a 28degree card conversion instead of Amazon's.

Do you use CC directly to apply the 28 degree card or can you still get the benefit of the 28 degree card if you go through Paypal?
Does Amazon accept paypal… ? That would be new to me …
But in general it will depend on the currency charged. On some cards it will also depend on the country … but not for the 28Degrees as far as I know …
Use 28 Degrees MC and specify US dollars as the currency so that you get the 28 Degree conversion rate and not the Amazon less favorable rate. If you use PayPal you'll get their conversion rate before your card is billed in A$ and this will be likely worse than BOTH the above alternatives.
You can use Paypal with a 28 degree or similar card and still get the benefit of the Visa/Mastercard exchange rate without extra fees, you just need to change the default currency conversion option so that they bill your card directly in US$ (or other foreign currency) instead of converting to AUD using Paypal's (awful) exchange rate.
How do you switch Paypal settings to AVOID PayPal doing the currency conversion before debiting your card? I spend an age trolling the PayPal profile without finding the option…:-) Later note: There is no profile setting. The option exists on the PayPal checkout page to be billed in the currency of the transaction and must be invoked EACH time you checkout. Obviously PayPal want the normal default to be their extortionate exchanges!! :-(
Great price … should be the cheapest ever :-) Finally under 100 USD. Thanks …
Just purchased, cheers
just got one — thanks
worked out to -$119 delivered using commbank mcard..Thanks, 7200rpm right?
I wonder how this would go with Xbox One?Yeah, this deal was posted on the xbox one subreddit this morning. Will work well with it.
Excellent thanks, guess I'll bite!
Not 7200rpm.
Bought one for myself and old man.
Thanks OP!
PURCHASE -$114.75
28 degrees
Thanks op :-)
this model is pretty heavy. Slim 2TB Portable is a better choice but sold at $122.
It's shipping weight is only 10.4 ounces, which is a whopping 0.294kg?
Thanks OP, ordered one.
Warranty?
Thanks OP. Also the black model is the cheapest, the other colors all cost 119.
How does this drive compare to the 2TB seagate one that was on sale a few days back
This one - https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/147680
I believe: 1. Seagate 1 year warranty vs. WD 3 years warranty
2. Seagate expansion basic model, not much soft inc. vs. WD Ultra higher model, encryption & softwares inc.(or much more crapware depends what you think)
3. Seagate removable 2.5" 9.5mm hdd ,standard USB vs. WD none removable thicker hdd, soldered USBWhich one is better depends on how you're going to use it
What does the encryption software do? So that if someone gets ahold of your external hdd they need the key to unlock it? Can you get freeware or easily downloaded software that can lock your external hdd's access e.g. encrypt for say the seagate?
Re: No #3 is it advisable to get a external hdd with no soldered/dedicated USB controller? If the controller fails that means the WD will be rendered useless right, whereas the seagate you could just remove and put it in another case, correct?
Or would you still advise/recommend getting the WD over the seagate?
Anyone knows if Android tablet can recognize it?
wrong reply. removed
Just went to checkout with 2 of these in my cart, and the price has increased by $10 to 109.99.
Yep, bugger. It's $109.99 now, I should have ordered last night, instead I chose to snooze…
Anyone know if there is a speed difference between the My Passport Elements, Standard, and Ultra? Of all the people reviewing these things, no one has compared the speed. Don't care about software or encryption.
Thanks OP, picked one up on Monday. Order confirmation email received last night!
Got one. Should be about $3 cheaper using 28 Degrees MC. Thanks OP…….:-)
