BARGAIN

Got this from OzGameShop who is offering this exclusive coupon code for OzBargainers. Use BARGAIN to get $5 off with $30 minimum spend. Watch Dogs PC for example would be $47.99 delivered after the discount (their $50 minimum free shipping seems to be before the coupon discount). Otherwise it's $1.99 standard shipping to AU.

Coupon code expires 4 June.

    I'm trying to buy something that's $29.99 :(

  • +4

So.. $2 off + Free shipping.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't OzGameshop offer free shipping on all items in the past?

    • Yeah a while ago now.

    • +17

Yes they did, they now charge $2 shipping. Haven't bought from them in ages.. they used to have really good prices, not so much now.

      • +11

Have to agree. Bought all my games from them 2011-2013 now their prices are equal or more to retail stores.

        • Would that be because the Aussie Dollar is no longer as strong?

        • +4

          they changed owner

but saying that you get free shipping on $50+ orders

problem is theres no one better

          mightyape suck

        • +4

          i spoke too soon

those bitches raised Beyond Two Souls from $20 to $28

          lol

        • +3

Mightyape have pretty good deals sometimes and their customer service is great from the times I've inquired about items.

I've found Ozgameshops prices to go up whenever they're offering "discounts".

        • +13

That is such a standard response. But I agree with the other customers, your prices DO seem to go up during a "sale". Best example is all the of "Settlers of Catan" series, as every other shop online has reduced the price of these over the past two years, yours has only gone up. Even most PS3 games that I have been looking at, go up in price a few days before your "sale" reduces them.

I used to love ozgameshop, but now it's not the best option, particularly with the extra shipping charge that was added last year.

        • +5

Yeah load of bullshit same as jbhifi jacking up prices before 20%.

Essentially it's $3 off not $5,only $5 off you spend $50 and over.

No Deal. Perhaps change the title mention about shipping costs and titles have gone up

          No excuses Ozbargainers want truth.

Your voucher code is such an irony. Perhaps use the word, 'jackedup' instead

        • +1

Yeah, Mightyape have some good sales, remember picking up Professor Layton on 3DS for $29.

      • +19

trying to upsell Express Shipping and Tracked Shipping to a crowd who is complaining about paying for shipping at all - I think you may have misinterpreted ozbargainers.

Is this to celebrate the Blues' win?

Surprisingly some games I am looking for are more expensive than ebgames.

      Hi wftnodeal,

Is there anything in particular you're looking for that we're more expensive on?

This is just for board games, but I'm sure other OzBargains can point this out with other items.

Summoner Wars Hawks Strike Reinforcement Pack and a few others. You're selling them at $17.49. Some packs even reach $21.49.
Games Paradise sells them at $15. Good Games sells them at $15. They're both easily within walking distance from me. They're local. From personal experience, a lot of the people there were helpful or at least try to be.

I used to buy board games from you guys (as it can be cheaper compared to Milsims/Advent Games). I still bought from you guys even though the savings became small (less than $10ish) even though there were times my board game box got dented along the shipment (I have a few and one that's pretty bad: 7 Wonders Cities Expansion, and it's not even a big box).

In the end, the price savings had gone from bad to worse. There's no real price saving now. The fact that I can't stack your coupons with my store credit is also disappointing.

When you had Dixit Odyssey big box in stock, I emailed you guys about it confirming if it is indeed the big box version (because I read that the version is out of production). The reply is your standard reply "We don't know, it's from supplier blah blah".

This may be harsh, but maybe you should give us your suppliers' contacts then? It seems like you guys aren't providing enough added value from your online service, so we might as well buy straight from them.

If your response is indeed true (suppliers raising prices), then perhaps you should change suppliers? Seriously, we have local brick-and-mortar shops beating your prices (and we all know things tend to be more expensive in Aus). Even if we save, we're saving a buck or two but risking damage along transit. If you are the customer yourself, wouldn't you reconsider in buying?

        tl;dr
For the pricing of some items, you're making excuses. It doesn't matter if they're true or not. Do something about it.

        • +1

Ditto. I used to buy all my big board games from them as they had a huge range with great prices. Now, it's a small range, (can't even find most of the titles on the boardgamegeek hot list,) with prices higher than local shops. Such a shame.

BEWARE of this seller. My wife purchased a game though these guys (based in the UK) that was region locked to the Europe. They asked us to post it back which cost more money than the game was worth and as yet we haven't received our money back. This has been over six months now. We won't fall for the same mistake again.

    • -1

What game was region locked? Had to have been a pc game.

    • In their defense, they do list that their games are import stock, and shipped from the UK.

      • +6

In his defence the store is called ozgameshop after all. Selling in aud to Australians.

        • +1

sigh people that think ozgameshop are based in australia without doing a few minutes research need a high five in the face with a foldable chair

    • Hi bt6464,

Sorry to hear of your bad experience - can you send me your order number and I'll look into it for you?

      Thanks,

  • Thanks for that, got 13 months of Xbox Live Gold for $53.

  • +11

I was looking on their site yesterday but all the (PS4) games I want I can get cheaper locally even after the $5 off. Need to pick up your game(pun intended) Ozgameshop.

    eg
NFS Rivals $74.99(-$5) vs. $64 at BigW
Wolfenstein The New Order $66.99(-$5) vs. $54 at Target
Watch dogs $79.99(-$5) vs. $64 at BigW
    BF4 $67.99(-$5) vs. $53.98 at DickSmith
Ass Creed 4 $72.99(-$5) vs $53.98 at DickSmith

I wonder why this is getting positive votes do not see a bargain here. o the days with free shipping and great prices that ozgameshop had, I suppose good prices must come to a end eventually. :(

    • Yeah, based on the comments I don't know why they're getting so many votes

      • +4

Dare I say mindless people just voting because Scott posted it. The prices have definitely increased in the few years. Lightning returns is still more expensive at $53 compared to JB at $49 - available in a bricks and mortar shop.

It's a shame, I used to buy a lot of games from ozgameshop before.

    • +2

I upvoted it because it got me 13 months of XBlive for 49.99, However for board games which I used to buy exclusively from OZGame things have definitely changed for the worse :(

  • +2

I used to shop with ozgame but its not as competitive as it once was. I didn't know they introduced a shipping fee. Even more reason to shop around for a better price or wait for a legitimate sale or coupon. Regardless thanks OP.

    • True. I think they did that after Zavvi did it few years back.
Prices used to be great for these shops, but I have not shopped from these shops in recent times.
The main reason was local retailers damn good deals ( Gears of War3, Battlefield3, etc)

    • Shipping fee is $2 per item too, so no combined shipping.

      • Ozgameshop combine shipping

        How much does postage cost?
Postage is free for all orders over $50. Orders under $50 are charged at $1.99 per order.

        Source

        • Hmm, ok. I must've been thinking of another site. My bad!

        • I think maybe thehut/Zavvi or Jbhifi?

  • So what website do you recommend now that Ozgameshop isn't what it's former glory used to be?

    • +1

New releases big w, dick smith, target or whatever store is offering a competitive AU price. Anything old have patience (if you're like me you have a backlog of games that are collecting dust anyway) & like I said wait for a legit sale or coupon.

    • +2

Game.co.uk still has some bargains, postage is 5pounds thu ($7.50). Saints row 4 is 25 posted for example

  • +1

Works on pre-orders, unlike some of the previous codes. Ordered Murdered: Soul Suspect for PS4; $60 and 6300 points earned.

    • I'm waiting for the same process for Sniper Elite 3, hopefully my points from the last order will be available by then.

  • +4

local sells cheaper, why bother. I would even get them locally if I need to pay 5 dollars more. No deal from ozgameshop any more. Used to be great overall.

  • +2

    Why so many up-votes?
    What are ppl buying?

  • +2

Why pay ozgameshop jacked up prices when local is cheaper lol

  • omg i just went to order LA Noire complete edition from OZgameshop.
I had to go from checkout back to the cart to remove an unwanted item. My cart got deleted for some reason, dropping all my items. In this time the game has gone up $4!!!!!
    WTF
    Less than 30 seconds!!!

  • How about this for a deal, Lego Movie The VideoGame(PS4) for $39.99(-$5 + $1.99(stupid postage))?

  • Thanks OP. Just ordered Rocksmith 2014 (with Real tone cable) for $59.99 including delivery. Its the best price I have found so far for this game. :)

  • +1

Guys, I realise that OGS is a UK retailer, so does that mean if we buy from them our CCs will get charged an overseas processing fee?

    • +2

Pay with PayPal to avoid any such fees

      • Well I have a 28 Degrees MC, which I could use, however I also have a Citibank card which will get me points.

Don't want to miss out on CC points if I'm not being charged any foreign transaction fees - can someone confirm please?

  • +1

Nobody has seemed to say it yet.. but this applies to preorders.

I got the game Murder: Soul Suspect for $26 with $5 discount AND they give you 5000 player points.

So effectively the game is $21, mind you it is the email code but that is an amazing price!

Great minds think alike, greater minds think faster :P

      • I saw that after I posted :D Figured i'd still keep the post seeing as though highlighting the $21 preorder as I thought it was an awesome price!
