Im after a top GFX card like a GTX690 or similar.
Not in a hurry, I am happy to wait for a sale, or get it today if its on sale somewhere now :)
Not sure whether to go overseas or local, depends on price difference.
Where would people suggest I keep an eye on for specials ?

Gtx 690 is old, super expensive, power hungry dual gpu card. I'd recommend gtx 780 ti or R9 290x. I've always found pc case gear prices and service to be good.

I think Mwave is pretty good as well. Purchased from PCCG and Mwave.
Recommend either of the following cards:
1. GTX 780Ti (first pref*)
2. GTX 290x non-stock cards. The cooler on the stock is just horrendous. Get a Gigabyte/Sapphire Toxic/Asus DirectCU II edition.
*This is an subjective opinion and YMMV, but I found AMD Catalyst drivers to be a bit more rough around the edges than Nvidia's drivers. I am presently using an R9 290 in my current rig (upgraded from a DCUII TOP GTX 670) and even though it is significantly more powerful, the drivers are a bit meh.
If you are set on a nvidia card maybe just wait for a month or so, just to see if there is any movement on the new 800 series.
780 Ti GHz which I bought for $929 a while back. Cream of the crop and one of the fastest Ti's available.
