Sunbeam EM7000 Coffee Machine (RRP $949) $687 with 5 Year Replacement @ HN Fortitude Valley QLD

60

Checked out HN's Super Saturday deal and found this. Salesperson said it was just for
the weekend and only on the WHITE and GRAPHITE colour. Seems to be only available at the Fortitude Valley store as the HN website is still $768 and a few stores i called couldn't price match. Cheapest advertised price i could find was $749.

Great price but anyone serious about their coffee would consider Rancilio sylvia or gaggia classic as much better long term investment and about the same price

I agree, I rather pay $739 for a brand new Rancilio Silvia V3 over the Sunbeam.

    • Agreed. I had a Sunbeam coffee machine a couple years back but not this model. It was rubbish. Lots of fiddly plastic bits inside, some of which broke when I was putting it back together after cleaning. Save yourself the drama and get a machine from a well known brand.

    • Don't forget the Lelit Combi. Excellent build quality on par with the Silvia and has a very good inbuilt grinder. Excellent alternative to the Silvia if your bench space is limited.

Although I must admit, Sunbeam have come quite a long way. Quality of internals is improving with each revision, flaws are getting ironed out, and these machines can still pull a damn good shot. They would suit an office environment or someone who wants a machine with a little less fuss. The only downside I see is longevity. The italian made machines are built solid (all stainless steel, brass and plenty of commercial grade components). Whilst the italian sub-$1000 machines only have a single boiler, the boilers are made of brass and will almost last a lifetime if the machine is maintained and cared for. I've heard of the thermoblocks on the Sunbeam's start failing after 3 years and the cost of the replacement would be as much as a new machine.

I have this model of coffee machine (in white and stainless) partnered with a breville smart grinder. Originally looked at Italian machines via Jet Black Espresso but liked the features of this one.

I'm very happy with the coffee (generally from Manna Coffee, an Ozbargain regular) and has some great features such as a temperature sensor in the steam wand that works in conjunction with the milk temperature gauge, you can make your coffee and froth your milk at the same time, it's easy to clean and maintain and warns you when it's running out of water.

Had mine just over a year and no problems.

I also have this model. Good easy machine to use, no temperature surfing, twin thermoblock ie pull shot and froth milk at the same time. If you have a good grinder, nice fresh beans it makes as good a coffee as any coffee shop.

I paid $675 last boxing day including grinder which I sold for $100 on ebay. Net cost $575. So average deal really.
