Bosch 1500W PKS1500 Green Circular Saw $79 @ Bunnings or $71.10 Price Match at Masters

120

My first post, please let me know if the posting is not correct.

I was in the market for a circular saw, noticed that the Bosch PKS1500 is only $79 in Bunnings.
Quick check in Masters website show the same model for $118, so I went there and get their price match guarantee, which comes to $71.10, the check out lady was shocked at the price.

I am happy with the purchase, it is a good circular saw compared to ryobi and ozito.

I recommend not using one in your NAS.

I recommend not using one in your NAS.

im not gonna hate on you for your poor choice of music…. but i completely disagree and think this saw would be perfect to use on a Nas..

          https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nas

also works equally as well on bieber and any of his beliebers

        • Birth name: Nasir bin Olu Dara Jones

          I've read enough.

        • no no no, hes not that osama bin guy that didnt have anything to do with flying planes into the WTC but was enemy number one because of it and was killed by the US solderers.

or that other sadam guy who was also enemy number 1 for a while who also had nothing to do with the 911 attacks but also was punished for it and was also killed by the americans…….

hes also not that really evil hussein obama dude whos the current american president, tho how i would love to see the marines take him down or see him hung like they did sadam

Nas is just a really bad rapper… and you probably shouldnt listen to him.

going by the pic, its only a tiny little saw. only good for cutting fairly thin materials (lack of blade depth)

there may be more, but thats all i can tell from the pic. bosch are usually a good brand.

edit: i should probably add, id rather get a full size circular saw (355cm iirc) because you can always adjust the depth to cut something thinner if you need to, you cant adjust a small saw like this deal to cut say a 10cm log if the blades to small…

      • edit: i should probably add, id rather get a full size circular saw (355cm iirc)

        3.55 m?
I think you mean a 235 mm circular saw which is easily twice this price and twice as heavy.

sorry your probably an expert who knows everyting, sorry im just a rooky whos bad at typing…

          http://www.bunnings.com.au/irwin-355mm-80t-metal-circular-sa…

PS, i mean 355mm, you would have to be a moron to think they made 355cm hand held circular saws…..

        • You'd have to be a moron to think a 355mm circular saw is a good option!

Now if your talking about a DROPSAW then that's something totally different. And thanks for the neg. Was just trying to give some helpful advice.
If you don't know the difference between a 190 mm circ saw and a 355mm circ saw I suggest you stay away from them before you chop some fingers off

OP is looking for a handheld saw. You recommend a table saw.

Bit of a genius are you?

Table saw = space constraints, inability to cut … say the edges off a deck in place, etc.

So horses for courses mate…. you'd have to be a moron not to think someone honestly thought you made a typo/mistake.

Only used it for little general cutting today, can't fault it.
Bunnings staff told me it will be good for general use, not trade.

    • you can tell that by the colour

      green = home use
      blue = trade use

      • red are the best for running 24x7

      • Ahh ok.. no wonder blue bosch tools are more expensive..

As if bunnings staff know what they're talking about. You crack me up rtji1

      • lol. couldnt have put it better myself.

  • You're lucky Masters did the price match. I tried this in the past, Masters product included a spare blade and claimed it was a different product and rejected the pricematch.

    • I didn't even notice they are different… no wonder the checkout girl was hesitant but the manager said "it's the policy we have to follow it"

  • I got one last year with price beating in Masters, but figured out much later that these were actually two different models because Bunnings'one didn't come with 3 blades while Masters' one did.
Now have to live in guilty of being "not honest" for life.

    • Be careful, Masters hold onto their surveillance videos for 3 years.

It's fine next time when I walk into Masters I'll put my sunglasses on

  • I never use my circular saw. Get a jigsaw instead

    • +2

      I don't have 3 days spare….

      • -2

Get a table saw then. Circular saw is crap

    • Get a jigsaw instead

I agree. Sit down, relax and do a puzzle.
