Warning: this webcam does not keep white balance settings on windows 8. It reverts to zero every time you plug it back in and you need to change it. So every time you open it you are greeted with this horrible pale looking version of yourself.
On mac, this webcam generally records in 720p. It does 1080p when quicktime player is used.
There's also a webcam app you can get for the mac which has some handy features like manual focus, white balance etc. Lens quality is amazing. Would recommend a proper usb powered mic over the webcam stereo mics.
Overall the quality is very good, and is a no brainer purchase at $57 usd.

The good: Nice clear image, excellent low light performance
The bad: The microphone isn't super sensitive. You can't really put it on your TV and sit on the sofa. Also it is not very sharp when zoomed (unsurprisingly) and the field of view is quite wide, so you see a lot of background. But this might be a good thing depending on context, it is a very good thing if you have several people
