Check reviews, a lot complain about blisters after using this junk

    • I could hardly say 1 review is a lot, anyways, I have no idea why blisters — burned by steam?

This should not replace a daily shower or bath.

      which one is better??

      I want one

They are for different purposes. The steam mop is very handy and convenient for floor but can only be used for floor. The handheld cleaners like this hoover may be a bit clumsy when you pull it over the floor, but can be used for cleaning sink, stove, shower room etc. Hope this helps!

the black and decker is much better…. refer to my recent comment below on what I found at the shop.

        • Thank you to the both of you

          Very much appreciate the advice

  • I need to buy a steam cleaner for cleaning tiles… which Karcher model did you get?

    • sc2500, very nice and solid machine. The cool thing is that you can fill in water to this karcher during your cleaning, so you don't have to stop and wait for the refill, when you are running out of water.

On second thought, it is probably because the karcher has only 0.6 liter tank. If you have a 1.5 liter tank like this hoover, maybe you do not have to refill (unless you have the whole house to clean…. )

  • can this be used on a floating wood type floor? would it damage the wood?

    • I wouldn't use it on a floating floor…. never. The laminate may take the steam, however your laminate joints would soak up the steam and start to break down the laminate within over some time.

So I have about 250m2 of floor tiles to clean and I just went down to Godfreys to get this Hoover steam cleaner and saw that it has a significant flaw in its design. The steam head is not tiltable/ adjustable… so you can only steam when holding the wand at a certain angle to the floor… it was actually quite bad design, as it would be so uncomfortable to use for more than 2 minutes IMHO. Also, the steam head has other significant issue in that the cleaning pad has not much contact with underside of the steam head, so it would do a pretty poor job of cleaning floors. However, it may be ok to clean showers eg given its additional tools for cleaning inside showers. The black and decker refered to above by #hashtagbargain is the real winner. They sold out at my local so I placed an order till more stock arrives this Friday. The black and decker looks superd for large floors.

    • My karcher is also not tiltable. This seems a common problem for this type of design?

FYI Hoover in Australia is different to Hoover in the US, the Hoover here is the brand slapped on by Godfrey's to sell off often cheap and nasty machines. When I was out to look for a bagless, I went for a Vax because the hoover bagless I was shown at Godfrey's was produced with nasty cheap plastics and felt flimsy, it's probably comparable to the kmart home brands.

  • Thank you logical. Just bought the black and decker, also came across a coupon for a black and decker scrub brush free with all purchases above $100 in store. Can't find the link right now, on phone.
