  • edited. good deal~

  • bought one, thanks.

  • Can we get a local EB to order one for us?

    • +4

This deal is available in-store for $199.

      • Sweet!

Also the problem with the Vita was due to the limited game releases. Do you see this as a problem in 2014?

        • +3

I do believe that the ps vita now is a must have for those who have a ps4 or thinking about buying one when the price falls.
The remote play feature is a big draw and the games on it are though cannot be compared with ps3 gameplay and duration it still is a fantastic product.

          Just go for it.

        • +2

          No

        • The Vita has never had a limited range, that's been BS since day one.

        • +2

No issues with the Vita's games library as far as I'm concerned. It has plenty of games coming out for it all the time, it's just that not many of them are big budget 'AAA' releases.

        • +1

Freaking love my VITA. Games coming out my ears!

  • I've got one. It's amazing fun, p;aying Wipeout on it, is just as good as it is on console.

  • Will this be the "fat" version with the better screen, or the new "slim" one? Also, is there much loss in not having mobile data connectivity? Cheers.

    • +2

i believe the description states "A stunning 5' OLED screen" making it the pre weight-watchers version….

    • We dont have the new slim (2000) model in AUS yet. Still waiting on release date. US get theres bundled with Borderlands 2 on May 9th I beleive.

Im tempted. The lost of OLED is a bummer but after looking into reviews the pros make up for it like better battery, lighter and my fav a smaller rear touch pad.

Also just to know most of the games provided are not VITA games but PSP games

      Lego Harry Potter (VITA)
      Lego Batman (PSP)
      Lego Batman 2 (VITA)
      Lego Star Wars 3 (PSP)
Lego Pirates of the Caribbean (PSP)
      Lego Indiana Jones (PSP)

  • Actually I belive the slim version is only released locally for now.
Also the going trend is curves are better I ahhhhhhh mean the OLED version is best.

I wonder if the can do a deal with the memory card and games only.?

    • Slim version isn't available here yet. No release date given.

If anyone buys this deal and just wants to sell the games let me know as I am interested to buy them.

    Thanks.

    • +1

Happy to sell for $20 if you are interested in it.

  • I think its a good deal you get a 16gb card with it never mind the games

    • Yes, local price for 16gb is still $45-ish.

  • +3

Good deal but to make it a great deal, get PS+

    • Is OZ or US PS+ better value?

      • both have their pros and cons.
        US:
        Pros:
        - Great discounts on games.
        - Annual Membership has been on special a couple of times this year and last year (USD$29.99) normal price USD$49.99

        Cons:
Not a fantastic offering of Instant Game collection when compared with EU/AU stores

        AU/EU:
        Pros:
        - Impressive Instant game collection when compared with US store
        - Seasonal discounts on games viz easter special

        Cons:
        - Annual Membership rarely discounted (max I have seen is 15%, but I am sure I may have missed other opportunities)
        - High game prices

        • Also AU monthly content is often better.

  • I got mine from JB HiFi deal. I find it hard to play for more than 30 minutes in one go. Buttons are too small. I hope they redesign the ergonomics for adults in the next iteration.

  • Thank you to all the guys who replied to my earlier post regarding the version of this vita :)

  • All sold out! What a shame, I was actually considering buying it :/

    • In store too

    • It's still available in store.

      EDIT: Beat me to it!!

      • +1

Thanks for your earlier msg :)

  • Oh good, I might have to ring up tomorrow and check my local stores. Thanks.

    • Completely sold out around the Dandenong area. Been sold out since Saturday in some places. Guess it ain't meant to be haha. Anyone know the next cheapest place to buy?

  • for any adelaide people, it's sold out everywhere i believe. i just grabbed the last one from the city store because the chick happened to have found one on the shelf that wasn't on the system. lego/16gb card comes in a separate bundle pack.

  • LOL typical EB. I purchased one but it was a used Vita rebadged as a new Vita. Only reason I'm not returning is because it's in pristine condition and it has 3G.

    • How do you know it was used?

      • +2

        Probs pron on the stick

      • +1

        the psn was signed in.

  • +2

Thanks for the post, I managed to snag the last one at my local EB in Brisbane about 20 minutes ago. Managed to get a brand new 3G model too as it was all they had in stock.

    • yeh i have a 3g model and it does come in handy when you use the features of the vita.

  • Thanks op for posting- does anyone know how to permanently turn off the avls?

  • I'm selling the Lego games. PM me if interested.

  • Got one, cheers

  • If i m buying the aussie version, can i still download the japanese Gundam games from the japan store?

    • Better and easier to just import the map retail copy.

  • Received my online order.
EB Games have used tacky regular sticky tape to seal both the Vita box and the Memory Card package. If I had known this would be done, I would have ordered in-store.

Still, I suppose it's a step up from my previous experience:
    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/130252

Though I have yet to open the boxes to inspect contents, I'm assuming they're new.
Anyone else get the sticky-tape treatment? I know for a fact that this was not prior practice.

    • +1

The ps vita console I bought in store wasn't sealed too but 100% sure brand new. I think some Sony products aren't sealed some are.

      • I'd prefer if it was just sent as it's sent from Sony. The Wifi+3G Vitas I've seen (and own) have no seal, but no tacky sticky tape either. I'm guessing the plain wi-fi boxes are the same as the 3G ones. So I am guessing EB Games added the sticky tape.

    • +1

I used to work in games at JB, that's how it would usually come from Sony believe it or not.

      • My previous memory card (with 10 games) had a seal, but a non-sticky-tape factory seal that was rectangular (with rounded corners). My previous Vita box had no seal. If Sony is doing this then maybe things have changed.

The box design and shape on this Lego memory card package is different to the previous 10 game 16GB bundle. Anyway, this one has been taped-up with regular sticky tape on both top and bottom opening sections.

        • I remember when the lego ones arrived, they were in a box instead of a sleeve but I don't recalle exactly how they were sealed. I could be wrong, since I haven't seen your one but a lot of Sony's stuff came with tacky-looking sticky tape. Sometimes things weren't sealed (the 3G vita's at JB for example) but I can't see any reason why we (or EB) would ever have had to add our own additional seal.

Not saying it didn't happen, but very strange if it did. I hope it didn't damage the packaging.

        • Sony don't seal any of their Japanese released consoles and not a lot of their games.

  • Expired; it's back up to $269

    • Cheers m8
