$740 return with United? So very tempting..

      • Have you flown with united, its like flying QANTAS in the 1990s (really bad food, single projector for entertainment and some music), its no wonder they went bankrupt. I was temped to jump out and swim about half way across the pacific.

There would have to be a $600 difference for me to consider united as an alternative, and even then id rather not.

        • Yep, agree. I flew the MEL/SYD-LAX a couple of years ago, and the planes appear to be the older ones in the fleet with the single projectors. I believe they were playing a Britney Spears movie so didn't miss out on much.

          • @neil: who cares what movies are playing on flights. Usually they’re crap anyway.

That’s what ipods/iphones are for. Load it up with eps/movies and away you go. Guess people are still old school…

Not sure what the dollar at US$0.81 has to do with it. Prices are in AUD$. Remember if jetabroad goes broke and you pay with credit card i think you get it back - not sure what happens if you pay with paypal. Not sure about many things - life is complicated.

      Life is complicated.

  • I worked out the US dollar has to do with the shopping money - duh. Sorry. Still not sure of paypal refunds.

  • Fantastic prices, perfect opportunity to go see family, just gotta find the time now…

  • probably a good idea to do a currency conversion now if your planning on going, as i think the US dollar is probably as low as its gonna get, could be wrong but wont hurt to change a k or so in preparation for the trip. damn, why cant they go on special in one year around the time of my honey moon plans!

  • That is a great price.

  • Good price. And opportunity to fly the A380 on Qantas as well!

  • How do I actually book tickets at this rate?

I tried to book SYD-LAX from Qantas web site for Aug 15 (Departure) and Aug 21 (Return) and the price is AUD 1,363. Then I checked JetAbroad.com and Qantas' price is roughly the same but there is a $200 cashback if paid by paypal.

  • I paid $1,000 just to get to ChiangMai (Thailand!) a month ago, would have been cheaper to move the business conference to the US!!!
