I just went to the 7/11 at work for a afternoon snack and found that the Streets Magnum Almond ice cream have a free Gold Class Upgrade for Cinemas!

Couldnt find any details of the current offer on their website though. Looks like it's still pretty new.

Ive taken a picture of the wrapper that has this information. (Took it with my HTC Magic Phone :D )

        My experience of gold glass was that its only average. I guess its better if you're the type of person that wants a waiter while you're watching a movie and want some fancy food to order too.

          The seats are reclining seats and there are limited, only ~30-35 people, in the room.

          Did I mention the Sundae is awesome? :D
          Then again this is freeeeeeeeee upgrade so might as well :D Also comes with the yummy Magnam :P

      Does the seating in gold class allow for couples? La premier is separate for some stupid reason.

        It's two separate seats, big armrest in middle. Hard to get some couple'ish action going on

        La Premier seats I've been to have always had fold away armrest?

    A much better offer that the "La Premier" offer I found for a so called "bargain". And it means I MUST have a Magnum as well, life can be tough for someone on a diet. Thanks for the info.

    sigh … went to the local servo station today (in Sydney) and the magnum's there didnt have the promo on it :(

    Im guessing there probably still being distributed , so not all places would stock the newly labelled magnums .. although keep an eye out for them :)

    Does anyone know any tips for actually getting a ticket?

    Last time this promo was on I only got to go once (had many upgrade vouchers)

    The main problem is you can only buy the ticket on the same day, so you have to beat all the people that buy before the day.

      I thought you just had to register and download the voucher, and then you can goto any Gold Class screening that was available?

        You download the voucher and redeem it for a ticket. The problem is that it was almost always booked out.

    The last time you could only get the upgrade on a full priced ticket purchased on the day.
    They refused to give me an upgrade on a break down voucher even though I had paid full price for that movie.

      Magic is great! Nice n small and browses the web and have exchange email sycned really well. It's very customiseable, with so many aps etc…
      A lot better than the iphone!

      It's the best! Once you go gold, you never want to go back to standard :(

          wasnt free for me either - and the nazi waiter wouldnt let you bring in the outside food I was already eating at the time.
          The other thing I didnt like was the waiter always walking around back and forth during the movie. I found it highly distracting.

          I find it better if you go to a regular movie saturday mornings, no-one is there so you dont have to put up with idiots in the cinema; plus you can put your feet up into the next row if you want. Also you can choose the best seat as the 300 seat cinema is practically empty!

          The problem with gold class is that there are only 8 good seats of the 30 something.
          I had to sit on the side and thought its just as bad as sitting on the side in a regular movie.

    Ok, I don't get it. The deal is exellent, but after reading what the gold class actually offers (better seats, less people and some over priced food can be ordered) I can't help but think that it's stricktly for the couples and not for a single guy like me. Am I to believe that all those people who gave a positive have a partner to go with? :)

    I was given some free tickets to GC and went to the Jam Factory on Saturday night with my wife. We had a lovely evening, the seats are REALLY comfortable and you press a button to recline them. The food was very nice, although a little expensive (I didn't mind as the seats were free). We could easily hold hands and were not that far apart.

    Overall I can highly recommend it, especially using this deal (as I did last year).

    I just went back to the 7/11 that I originally got the magnum from and they had no more Magnum Almond Flavours left! :(

    The guy said he'll order some in for me.

    Hopefully they will have the Gold Class wrapper.

          OMG!! My missus bought from petrol station shop when filling petrol and i just checked her wrapper also has 2008 dates!! o.O So yeah, if you need to rummage around to find a Magnum with "Gold Class" make sure it definitely says 2009. That is two completely different places (7/11 in city, and Woolies servo) who don't yet have the 2009 stock yet I guess?!

    Last year in addition to the upgrade offer they ran (or at least when I was there) a corresponding food offer at the cinema itself

    cant remember speficially what it was, but was OK for the price - included a magnum, some popcorn and something else I forget
