So ~$50 for 8xAA's, 2xAAA's and an unknown charger. Yeah, don't see how this is a deal.

Considering the DSE deals on them and can easily grab a smart charger for ~$14 delivered (http://www.fasttech.com/products/0/10001890/1136300-authenti…).

Unknown charger? It's the Eneloop charger that Sanyo make. It also comes with the case, also with 2 C and 2 D converters. It's great if you need a set of backup batteries and also a storage unit for them.

The battery spaces can be bought for cheap as off eBay, I've ordered a heap of them for Mum to use in some of her devices.

And yes you're right, had to read in the questions at the bottom as to what charger it is, the Sanyo #NC-MQN06.

And the case is useless. Just keep them in a $1 container from Big W!

Okay, did some searching on the dick smith website.

Current price for 4 batteries and a charger is $29.95
Current price for 4 additional AA is $14.95
current price for 2 AAA is $14.95

So for 10 dollars extra, you are getting no C converter, no D converter, no way to charge your AAAs, and no storage container, and it won't be delivered to your house. I am not sure how you think that is a better deal, but each to their own.

Edit: The case is also great if you pack them while travelling. Easy to locate all the bits you need very quickly and stops any of them getting lose.

Yes, cause I'm totally talking about current DSE prices… Hence why I said DSE 'deals' not 'every day price'.

I'm referring to the 8 packs for $20 delivered that seem to pop up every few weeks, for both AA's and AAA's.

I was pretty gutted that I missed out on the last DSE sale as the prices were fantastic. It's not exactly fair though to compare a deal that isn't available to a deal that is.

        • 8 Packs of AAA for $20 delivered every few weeks? maybe i havent seen them, but have you got links?

@Pussumbly - Didnt find any in the last 3 months… Last concrete deal was 2013. Care to link?

Just for starters this one took me 30 seconds

        • Whilst true, I'm not comparing it to the deal where people were getting like 16AA's with a charger for $30 or whatever it was. The $20 8 pack has happened a fair few times, not like it was just a once off or anything.

I dunno, if it was team teri linked to for this price, it would be a decent deal. This just doesn't seem like enough in the way of batteries though for the price that's all.

It's not the old dumb charger that just has a timer in it. This one does have voltage regulation. But the charging current is low (~300mA) so it takes quite a while to charge batteries fully.

Not all of the Sanyo chargers are rubbish. The MDR02 and the NC-MDU01 are quite good.

This is the lowest price the Power Pack has ever been.
