I've flown with Air Asia multiple times travelling through and transiting via KL. As recently as a week ago returning from Thailand. Never had any problems whatsoever. Very easy airport to navigate, customs/immigration is quick and easy.

  • Thanks op booked flights for the 31st

  • So it'd almost be cheaper to fly syd-Perth via KL than direct…

    • and you can claim GST on the way….
and you get stamps on your passport!

  • If you can't get the dates that you want for an acceptable price, then try using those dates but break up the legs. Eg booking Sydney to Kul. Kul to Bangkok(DMK) etc it will mean going thru customs and collecting bags and recheck in at Kul, but in some cases it is a huge saving. There is a slight risk to this strategy though. Try to leave additional time between connections.
