Should just stock up on Woolies ones which are $7.49 for Kleenex 24pk

    • +1

31c per roll at Woolies at that price. 20% cheaper than this.

    • +1

How do they compare (Kleenex vs. Sorbent)?

      • +1

texture is different but both are good.

      • +1

We use both and they are the same

        • +8

We use both and they are the same

Sorry, but when it comes to toilet paper recommendations, I'd go with tightarse.

        • +6

Poor Trent, seems like unless u are a expert on taking shits and wiping ur arse ur opinions are not appreciated here. I'll give u a +ve just for expressing an opinion. All opinions are welcome by me.

        • +2

And when it comes to the price of paper I flush down a toilet, I'd go with the maths, the cheaper the better. I don't like flushing money down the drain.

      • +5

Sorbent has always been considered the Rolls Royce of dunny paper. It's a long running joke that it's the one the Italians & Greeks get out when visitors come over :)

        • +11

I like quilton as best, very very soft lol. Sorbent are good too though.

        • Trent are you a toilet paper connoisseur?

        • -1

Ive never heard of this joke….which isnt funny ;(

        • Peasant paper compared to Quilton 3ply, my friend.

    • +17

Kleenex Cottonelle? They're horrible. So fragile you end up fingering your TA.

      • +5

Wiping your arse, you're doing it wrong …

        • I use my hand…how do you do it?

      • +4

I tend to agree. Kleenex Cottonelle are prone to "breakthrough". It gets progressively worse the longer it is out of the pack (must be picking up moisture in the air).

Quilton would be my pick as they are soft, strong, and don't clog up your toilet if you use too much. This can't be said for Kleenex Cottonelle.

        • -1

except the quilton in the jumbo packs at woolies… they pack in so tight it makes like a different product (or could actually be) and is rough as a greater on your nut sack.

      • +3

        Kleenex Cottonelle? They're horrible.

+1, they should be called Cotton-hell lol

  • +4

    costco

    • How do these prices compare to buying bulk at Costco? Anyone know?

  • +9

All this Kleenex vs Sorbent talk is giving me the shits…

    • +2

That's why you need this deal.

  • +4

When it comes down to wiping my arse, I will trust tightarse.

  • +5

I did not care about Kleenex vs Sorbent in the past, because I always used 3~4-fold to wipe.
Now I know that there is a difference in strength, I will try to use 2-fold of Sorbent to wipe.
Thanks OP. This is really a tightarse saving!!

    • +2

Use the yellow pages to save more.

  • +4

Interesting comparisons. Never really cared about what brand toilet rolls I use.

    • +3

This is why I love OzBargain.

  • Very cheap compared to Costco! Costco 48 rolls are $27

    • Costco rolls have more sheets.

      • -2

More sheets means more shits… same thing right?

  • There was a guy I knew who used the old paper bus tickets when in an emergency.

    • I know of a dude who used his business card to wipe.

  • +1

Hope the mods don't wipe this deal.

    • +2

Ure right. That would stink. lol..

  • +1

Gum leaves are free but they're crap.

    • -1

Alternatively let your dog lick it clean..

  • +2

just use the 3 shells and you never need to think about toilet papers again unless you are out in the public…

    • 3 shells? What is this, Mario Kart? Lol

      • No, try Demolition man….

    • But I don't know how to use them. :(

  • I would recommend the Kmart ones - 48 rolls for 8 dollars…..cheap and perfect for shit!! - 0.17 cents each

    • Are they smaller than the average roll from the other brands. What is the price per 100 sheets?

  • Interesting responses here,

    Started a poll

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/138640

I'm Quilton, triple ply and so tightly packed you still get a lot of sheets.

  • I use a bidet and then only need to use 2 sheets. saves paper!

  • A senior told me that all date rolls were 500 sheets and were around 14 cents each when on special.

This was back in the 70s

    good value

  • Having been unenployed since Xmas, the Mrs and l have been amazed at the amount of savings that can be had just by simple comparison of products. When it comes to toilet paper, we have compared most and have found the winner to be the Aldi brand CONFIDENCE Toilet Tissue 2ply 12pk $3.79 (12c per 100 sheets). This is an everyday price and not on special. No rolls royce but it does the job very well.

    • +1

The thing about buying 2ply though is are you using more per 'clean'?

      • We use the Aldi toilet paper most of the time, except when the major brands offer a special which works out better than your figures above.

    • Yuck. Confidence is the absolute worst TP. A former roommate used to buy that when it was her turn to refill. She's such a miser.

      • Nah, get the confidence 24 pack 3ply(not 2ply) ones from aldi for $8.99. The best value for money.

        • Well I was not aware of that but I've had too much shitty experience with it to give it another shot. Can't have confidence in it at all.

          (puns intended)

  • Nice deal TA, we all trust in you.
Would be interested to hear your recommendations on undies.
You know, the type that gives one the appearance of having a tight arse.

  • I think a true comparision between brands and supermarkets can be achieved if we work out cost per ply.

  • I'm only +ing it cause tightarse is recommending to… That's too good!
