  • packaging 50c, envelopes are cheap

@foobar, I think i do. If you think i do not let me know. There is always something new to learn specially if you are doing it for the first time. :-)

Having gone over it I think you're alright, wasn't sure about the ABN but the site has scraped one from somewhere so as far as I can see you're good.

Shame you're not the cheapest, that can attract a flood of negs so be prepared.

If you're selling them on consignment, maybe let the other party know that there are cheaper out there and that you may have to sell them under cost to get rid of them.

        • no issue on negative. I have learnt something new, also can share this with the mate who sold me. So if i get some post purchase discount i can get the price down :-)

        • +2

Ah so you've already paid, pity. I guess you're about to find out how much of a mate the person you got them from really is. Good luck!

  • Thanks guys for quick check and comments

$4.95 - Looks to be cheap, Can't beat it. Its listed in "Jewellery & Watches>Children's Jewellery>Bracelets" category so i didn't see it. He is a big fish and I am doing more charity than business.

50c packaging - The envelops are cheap but considering all the other logistics i think this is right cost. I don't have anything in wholesale stock so i have to buy it in post office when i go there.

Anyways thanks for evaluation and comments.

I think the OP was referring to a paper notebook that you would write handwritten notes in, not a laptop (aka notebook computer)

        • -2

          no USB, no muncan

i dont consider 5c off from the 2nd cheapest seller a "bargain". cheaper? yes. bargain? no.

    • +4

      5 cent saving? No bargain.
Sob story with violin playing? Priceless.

      • seriously who sells stuff on ebay for family and friends for no profit?

        • Someone that isn't a greedy self serving turd and doesn't mind helping out friends and/or family.

        • +1

call me sceptical but I don't always believe everything that I read.

        • Thanks guys for understanding. I am doing all this not for profit but to learn the workings of ebay and some knowledge on how the buyer community thinks and how to research. All points taken and I have definitely learnt a lot in past 12hrs.

For 0.5c saving, I wish i had profits to talk about savings.

          LP: $4.89

          CP: $4
          Ebay:0.30
          Paypal: 0.42
          Packing: 0.10
          Real Shipping: 0.60

          Total: 4.89 - 5.42 = -0.53

When i bought it from that friend i checked that eBay highest was selling for $6.95 and i thought that i will sell this for $6.50, but missed the one which the "Kasumi" found :-). I gave him a word to buy at $4 and i can't go back on that.

What the heck i have learnt a lot.

Hope i don't get the 5c profit/loss comment again, and thanks for the people who have already bought this.

          Thanks,
          Gautam

before it was.38c profit, you need a new calculator?

          Purchase price $4 each
          Ebay Final Price: 0.65c
          Paypal Fees: 0.46c
          Shipping: 0.60c
          Packaging: 0.50c

          Total = $6.21

          Listing Price = 6.59c

Profit = 0.38c (which includes me driving to post office etc)

        • Not sure what you want to highlight.

The list price has now been updated form 6.59 to 4.90. Did i miss something critical ?

How can i sell this for 6.59 when there is at least one selling cheaper, see the first comment. :-)

        • I was highlighting that before you were making .38c profit and now the price is a $2 cheaper you must be loosing money to sell these things?

        • you must be loosing (sic) money to sell these things?

The comment you replied to just above clearly shows this

          Total: 4.89 - 5.42 = -0.53

          negative 53c

        • +1

yes, thats correct. I don't want to keep it and just feel sad that its not sold.

Also these things don't appreciate and will of course go down never rise up in price. :-)

So a small loss to learn this lesson is fine for me and someone else can get what they want.

          Thanks,
          Gautam
