Quick question - does this haave a headphone output jack?
Ie. Can you connect an optical source and output to 3.5mm headphones?
On Amazon.com, it says "additional 3.5mm input and Headphone output conveniently on side of the amplifier".

If you've never used edifier before, it's going to amaze you. For their price bracket, edifier makes their competitors's equipment cheap sounding.
Does anyone know how is it compare to the Philip sound bar $139? I like the sleek looking of sound bar.

$6.95 delivery to my PO box was pretty good, most online retailers don't ship to PO boxes any more and also it would probably cost me about $30+ in fuel to drive to the city and pick one up.
I really shouldn't have bought as I only needed some cheap speakers for my computer in the shed but these will probably be going to my main computer and my old faithful Yamaha YST-MS35D 2.1 speakers will be retired to the shed after about 14 years trouble free service. Hopefully these will last me just as long.

From the reviews I read they are lacking a little in the mids, I hope its not too noticeable (sharp cut off) but generally the reviewers say its the best in the price range.
I also checked to see if it compatible with my Logitech Harmony 200 remote and it is so that's a big bonus.
The Edifier C2XD can't rival the Z553 in terms of sound quality, but it boasts lots of connectors and a nice remote. It offers a lot of value, and therefore earns the Bronze Award.

I don't get it. First it is listed on their website as a clearance item at $98. Then it disappears from their website for a couple of days and I thought it was out of stock. Now it reappears on their website at $199.95. I would like to pick one up, but not at that price.
Just got a call from HN saying they are on back order but I'll still get them for the price that I paid.
They are ringing the supplier tomorrow and calling me back to tell me when they expect to have stock.
At $98 this was a bargain, got mine today. I am very happy, but then I had low expectations. :)

That's the last time I put something on OzBargain, I still haven't got mine and I ordered first!
My closest HN (who called me) said they need to get it sent from the warehouse and then called back and said the warehouse needs to get it from the supplier first.
They said I would get it this week (which I doubt) and I saw a Harvey Norman truck today here in town (about 70km from the nearest Harvey Norman) and though for a second that today could be the day but I doubt they would send a truck to deliver it to my PO box. Anyway I checked the mail and there was nothing.
Maybe by the end of next week I guess.
At least it is back up on the website and hasn't been discontinued.
Just picked mine up from the Post Office. This has been one of the smoothest, fastest pain free experiences i have ever had with Harvey.
First impressions = wow.
For such a small setup it's surprising how good the sound is! A big upgrade on the Logitech setup i had. The bass is firm and crisp and all the audio inputs are going to come in handy.
Finally a unit with a remote control and optical cable included in the box!
All you people who have ordered won't be disappointed. Especially for 50% off the RRP from Harvey.
Mine arrived at the post office today, I've had it about 6 hours now but I'll be working half the night and will probably be too tired to set it up when I get home.
The Edifier C2XD speakers arrived on Friday.
They are everything I wanted apart from I can not get any mid range out of them.
Thats a big problem because I live in a apartment and to hear people talking in movies I have to the volume up to hear the vocals but then its too loud, even with adjusting the bass and treble levels I am unable to get any mid range to listen to movies at low to medium volumes. I'm constantly adjusting the bass, treble and volume through a entire movie and its annoying.
I think they may be better if they are sitting on your desktop and the speakers are pointing right at you but I'm on the other side of a small room with a air conditioner going and they don't cut it.
Its disappointing but there isn't much I can do about it, I might just keep them for when I move out of the apartment and into a house but I have a 5.1 Onkyo system boxed up in a family members shed that I would use in a bigger place.
This looks like a great price, is this system better than logitech Z623 ?
